    On-line classes

I'm curious how many people here took *any* form of an online class.

    what were your experiences?

    what did you like/what sucked?

I think it would differ so widely that you cannot really learn anything from anyone's response. I'm sure some online classes would rock, whereas others (perhaps most) would majorly suck.

I agree, but just looking for feedback.

Personally I think they are ridiculous and not worth it...but, money is money.

i take at least 2 online classes every semester

i like em when i choose the right 1s, and they can be easy

the only downside IMO is that i tend to put them off and will have to finish up and turn in assignments last minute. im like that in every class though, attending or not

try it out man, the only way you will know if you like em or not

    interesting.

would think that would be pretty damn hard to do an M.D. online.

tell her I said good luck.

do you find them easier or harder than live classes?

I should've been clearer...I'm teaching two online classes this summer.

i will, she's kicking ass though, i help her take tests because she gets REALLY bad test anxiety since she's never used computers before this year, she's broken the curve on all her previous tests and all the professors have already recommended her for Ph.D. candidacy

eh thats tuff, they re so dependant on the topic or course

    ill go easier

mostly based on the fact that you work at your own pace in a way and dont have to worry about attendance (in most cases) and showing up for class

plus on tests and quizzes you can cheat and use your book

    so ya easier LOL

I took several online courses when I was getting my BA. It was cool because you could kind of go at your own pace, but at the same time, you have so much freedom that if you aren't highly disciplined it's real easy to fail.

Plus, not actually having to drive to campus and physically go to class is awesome.

    using your book...lol

I'm probably going to use timed quizzes (on blackboard8) to try to avoid that.

I was seriously thinking you were kidding. How can you do an MD online???? Certainly not in the States. I mean, I can understand taking *some* courses online. But no way can you do all of medical school online.

BB8 has this program that can automatically grade the quizzes I create. and I don't want to have to read a bunch of crappy papers.

    subject is Theology.

From my experience and my friends, it depends on the class and the professor.

If its just a basic, need to get out of the way course, sure, online is great.
But if your looking for a good professor, and its a more advanced course, nothing beats that in class learning.

Actually, regarding an MD online, I would think that the exams would be harder on the patients...

Yeah, I'm very confused. If the AMA gives hell to Caribbean students, I can't imagine online anything. Medicine is all hands on. But maybe it's just one or two basic science classes.
