    What is the purpose of the thyroid? I recently got some blood work done and the doctor said my thyroid wasnt working, then he said it was no big deal, Im wtf?

    Normally they would put you on something like synthroid if your thyroid was producing. Are you overly tired a lot?

    No , its not -non functioning but there was a level that was at 0 and it was something that was the responsability of the thyroid, he said to come back for another test it could be a mistake but ya my energy level is low.

    THE FUK IF ITS NOT A BIG DEAL!!! Its probably not deadly, but hypothyroidism wil make you feel like SHIIT. He should test you TSH, you wanna get prescribed synthroid and get your tsh as low as possible within the normal range. I think you want it down around 1. I think the normal range is like 1 - 5. Google it. You will feel a ton better once u get medicated. And by the way, a non-functioning thyroid will not necesarily make you gain weight uncontrollably. My thyroid was nearly completely inactive for years before I found out I had hypothyroidism and I never went above 9 percent BF.

    my mom had her thyroid taken out because she had thyroid cancer. They have her on something for it because her energy level was way down. Also she gained a lot of weight at first and then they changed her medication and she got skinny again. I would say it has to work LOL. I should see what she is on.
