Dress shirts
So I went suit shopping today and noticed that NO SHIRT SIZE WILL FIT MY NECK!
Anyone else have this problem?
Do I need to go to a custom shop or a tailor or what?

Do you have a Mens Warehouse close?
I had to buy a suit this winter and they were the only ones that could hook me up.

how many inches is your neck?

Shirt extenders. I have a 21" neck. But I've been able to get away with buying 19" necks (which are quite common) and using my shirt extenders. I can't buy shit off the rack, but there are many places on-line you can get shirts. Also, check JC Penny's they have a huge line of big man shirts. Not only is my neck huge, but I also have long arms so that makes it difficult. A good tailor and deep pockets go a long way!!!!

What exactly is a shirt extender?

mens warehouse has some pretty good prices.
if you get your shirts tailored, it will just cost you a shitload for a normal shirt. so not worth it in my mind unless you're spending some real money on the shirt itself

how much does a tailored shirt cost?
-

My tailored shirt cost about $90 a piece. I actually get them from the garment district in L.A.
Shirt/collar extenders are kinda hard to explain, but the expand the top button a couple inches if you need it.

My neck is about 18 inches.
Now I might be able to find an XL or XXL that would fit it, but the rest of me fits better into a large or even a medium if I want it to be snug.

18" is an off the shelf size almost anywhere areound here. Try Macys. If you like custom then here is the link to the company I use, they will send a rep to you with samples. You will need your credit card handy. Minimum prder is 4 shirts, about $650 on thier ecomonic series. Caution once oyu go custom it is impossible to go back.

I got some nice shirts at the mens wearhouse. They take all your measurements there then show you what they have in your size. I believe i paid about 90 a shirt.

Collar extenders as mentioned above. If your chest and shoulders are large also, hit a big and tall mens clothing shop. Their clothing is not exclusively for the calorically challenged.

Okay, yeah I don't know what is up with my oversized neck but I found a shirt.
Express at the mall, got the "fitted" style shirt in an XL and it's tight but it just fits.
Men's warehouse was a bust.
But yeah Express also has a sale right now on all their suit shit so I got a matching pants and vents set with it, all for like $150. So I'm happy with that.
