You are not going to live forever.........think about that.......
I was just sitting here looking at my daughter and my son, playing with them and I was just thinking........one day I am not going to be here to do that with them and I cant stand it. Not that it is worth it to dwell on it but, it really does make you wonder and hope that there is more to life than just this part of it. I am very non religious but, I can understand why people turn to religion at least partially because of thoughts like this. Think of all the people before us, all the mothers, sons and daughters etc that died and the pain their families went through with their loss......I am really no different, noone is. Pretty shitty that my family and myself will have to go through this at some point in time. I will lose my mother and father, and my children will lose me. It almost makes things like Alzheimer a way of distancing yourself from reality to ease the pain of dying and maybe even distancing your family from yourself as you essentially lose who you are. i suppose I am in no position to speak of how such a thing could at all make the loss of a loved one easier but, it was just a way of looking at it for me.
Might sound like Im depressed after I re read that but Im not at all really, just pondering I guess. Lifes a trip lol. This shit is too short to be thinking about stuff like this too much though. Don't die a thousand deaths as the saying goes...?

I too have small children and wonder these same things . I think most all us do . My family wanted me to quit drinking and using gear .This is my point of view. I'm almost 30 so I figure I have at leaswt another 30 very good years left where my physical and mental health is still stronge. This means only 30 more summers and 30 more winters .Looking at it like this I will live my life to the fullest chase my dreams and tell anyone who tries to tell me how I should live the good years of my life to stright up F!@! themselves .

all we are is dust in the wind
pain doesn't exist...after your kids face your death, they will face their own. Once they are dead, they never knew they missed you at all.

Death doesn't scare me.
Sudden death at the hands of some asshole robbing me or a car accident scares the shit out of me though.

Death? What do you all know about death?
-
It doesn't make me wonder about religion (which is BS). When you die , your dead, lights out, END OF STORY.
This is why people say life is so precious. This should help you appreciate life as it is now.

Living a life of happiness and fulfillment is a gift a very small percentage of people get to enjoy.
The fact that all of us won't be here at a certain point in the future is a scary thought. It sucks to think about that you won't exist anymore. This is why you appreciate what you have now, and live life to the fullest.
If the thought of death terrifies you, you are probably not living your life to its fullest potential.

I respect your opinion.
The neat thing is, you won't have to present your alibi to an Internet message forum when your flesh is done here on Earth. Nor to anyone that you've ever known or will know in the future. Because if you don't know Him, you can't fear him.
Again, I truly do respect your opinion. Please don't feel the urge to prove me differently because I'm not the one that holds the keys to your soul.

aHA! But even IF there is some sort of super pill that allows for a person to live a few extra hundered years of so, do you want to be quasi-immortal in your mid twenties or when you are 70?
Because what you are proposing is being old and infirm at the age of 70 (50 years from now) forever, which seems like Hell to me.
