Food Safety Debacle Hits Domino’s Where It Hurts

Two Domino’s Pizza employees have been hit with felony charges after they deliberately contaminated food that they were making, and then posted video of their acts on YouTube.com.

According to a story in the New York Times, “a Domino’s employee in Conover, N.C., prepared sandwiches for delivery while putting cheese up his nose, nasal mucus on the sandwiches, and violating other health-code standards while a fellow employee provided narration. The two were charged with delivering prohibited foods.”

The videos were seen more than a million times on YouTube.

While Domino’s is said to be considering the filing of a civil lawsuit against the two former employees (they were promptly fired by the company), it is still reeling from the public relations debacle. “In just a few days, Domino’s reputation was damaged,” the Times writes. “The perception of its quality among consumers went from positive to negative since Monday, according to the research firm YouGov, which holds online surveys of about 1,000 consumers every day regarding hundreds of brands.”

And critics are saying that Domino’s made a tactical error by not responding more aggressively, apparently believing that the issue would blow over. But its executives were wrong, and discovered that not only were the YouTube videos being widely seen, but that the issue was being focused on in places like Google and Twitter, giving the problem a life of its own.

This one of the reasons I make my own meals. I would way rather eat my own farts than some douche bag earning minimum wage. I bet this happens at all the fast food outlets and it just isnt on youtube yet.

Having worked at a fast food place in the past, I can say it does lol.

Not on my part, but others, who could care less about it...pretty nasty stuff

Even though it was a bottom job, I still took pride in what I did, and did it to the best I could. Other idiots throwing stuff on the floor, spitting in things....just gross

i eat out a lot, but the truth is, there is no place that is safe, every time you eat out, 9 out of 10 times, your food has had something happen to it usually by accident but yes sometimes on purpose by jerk offs

That's gross...

You may remeber this from the news about 6-7 years ago.
It happened at a Domino's near my house, where the cook jerked off onto a pizza. They delivered it to a party, the 12 year old girl who recieved the pizza ate it, got really sick and ended up getting abunch or sores in her mouth. Luckily she had some of the pizza left, gave it to the police and they found semen in it. The police were able to track down the scum who blew his load on her pizza. He got charged, the Domino's location got shut down by the health inspector, and her parents sued Domino's.

I will never eat at Domino's after seeing that in the paper.

Yeah it's totally messed up. The girl who ate the pizza was super nice too. Through talking to my neighbor I was able to get some more details about this. The people at the party ordered afew pizzas, and Dominos messed up the order. They sent out a peperoni pizza instead of a vegetarian one for her. When she called to let them know the mistake, the Dominos guy got pissed off about having to redeliver the pizza so as a form of revenge he jacked off onto the pizza before it was delivered. Since she was the only vegetarian, only she ate the veggie pizza. When the Domino's guy was charged he claimed he did not know that he had a STD.

I know if I found out someone did that to my daughter, the police would be fishing his body out of the river...

I've heard stories my whole life about people I know pissing in the pickles and doing gross shit to food at fast food places. You're letting a bunch of shithead teens handle your food in private, that's what happens.
