How big was the town you grew up in?
My town has 161(up 10 from the last census taken) people but we were only like 30 minutes out from a decent sized town.

I moved from the town I grew up in about 16 years ago. They didn't have a stop light then and still don't. We had 1 cop inthe town also . Now he works as a volenteer they can't afford to pay him anything.

We just had a state trooper that drove through every now and then we had a town of about 6,000 about 20 minutes away so if we had problems there cops would come out. Really it was understand as long as you didnt take your hell raising to town(esp highschoolers) they left you alone.

We used to pack the trucks just full of people and tear off to the nearest party lol. We had alot of fun and as long as nobody went into town and started raising hell the cops left us alone. We still give directions by who's house you go by and what dead in the ditch.

The drawbacks of growing up and living in a small town is the few times I visted larger cities I get like anxiety attacks. I was in Chicago and asked for directions and by then end was like ok just give it to me in north south east or west. The guy had no idea what I was talking about and had to lay it out like how many blocks north how many blocks east etc. Turns out he didnt know his directions everything was by the streets. I am never going back to a city that size again.

Well, technically no - I didn't grow up in Tokyo. But I did get 2 cm taller and I gained 40 pounds over the last 10 years, so perhaps I should say I GREW in Tokyo.
My original hometown? 131 people. Our nearest neighbor lived over 2 miles away. We had to ride the bus 90 minutes to school, one-way.
