NFPT is not, but I need it to accept this new job... I would suggest a degree in sports medicine, and Nutrition especially would be needed/desired..

I read this a while back Phate. Not really a direct answer but thought it might be informative to you. Answers are from Alwyn Cosgrove and he diffinitely has the credentials.
TM: Let's talk certifications. How important are they?
AC: With certifications, we're confusing education with expertise. There's a difference between a NASCAR driver and a kid who just passed his driver's-ed class. And certifications are on the driver's-ed side of things.
All certifications show is basic competence that you won't hurt someone. It doesn't make you an expert. It just shows that you're not an idiot.
Some people think that certifications are worthless. Yes, probably, but it's hard to not pick them up on the way to becoming good. If you told me that you did martial arts for 30 years and you're not a black belt, that's kind of odd, right? You haven't picked up any sort of third-party recognition of your ability.
Let's say you come to me for a job and you've never had a certification in your life. It doesn't look impressive. I would expect somebody who's good to pick them up.
So I don't put any faith in them at all, but I've learned something with every class I've been to and every book I've read. You're not going to become dumber by going in and taking another class. You might learn one thing. So if you're a professional and you're trying to get better, you're going to pick these things up. But in absolutely no way, shape, or form does a certification equal expertise.
TM: What certifications would you recommend?
AC: NSCA is number one. Now, don't confuse that with me saying that they're excellent, but I don't think anybody is better.
If you want to get into assessments and stuff, Paul Chek has an in-depth course. It's more like a graduate degree. Charles Poliquin's certification is similar. It's not a weekend certification. It's a serious amount of study.
If you want to become a trainer, go and intern with someone in your area who's good. Work for a while and soak it up. Then take a certification to get the paperwork done and be able to get insurance.

well, i've actually not been pulling my weight in school, i got a couple Bs which isn't like me at all(i haven't gotten a B since junior high), so i sat down with my mom and we worked out a study strategy, ya'll are gonna love this
my new study time will be 2x a day during cardio while i walk/elliptical etc...we concluded i can't stop working out because it's one of the ways i fight my mild depression(i hate using SSRIs)
that means i won't be on here as much starting next fall, because i'm going to use the forum as a reward for finishing my homework and studys
as for the getting laid part, no problem there, i've got plenty of booty calls(well i HAD plenty, my phone broke a few hours ago), hell one of them is a little brain so i might just bend her over, put my notes on her back and go to town, lol

i don't think so, i might be wrong but i haven't heard anything about it if so, i wouldn't pay for it anyway if they did, the trainers here are a joke with the exception of one who actually competes

the NASM is a top training cert and super tough!
I don't agree with the guy who used the NASCAR and drivers ed situations.
Think of it in this sense, and this happens often, I have seen it... A company will hire a fresh out of college student with a BA/BS, Masters, Whatever the degree might be, over a person who has been working in their company for 10 years and knows a lot about the company and position but lacks the degree. It happens: Many times Education is more powerful than Experience (this is also why so many companies fail).
PS: Golds doesn't have their own training program but 24 Hour Fitness does. LA Fitness is the lowest paying out of the 3.
I know 24 hour fitness pays you more money for having more certifications.
