    Thumbs down Worst Advice Ever!!!

So , for the last 4 weeks I have been incorporating rest/ pauses into my routine. Today, I am doing BB bench next to a flock of high schoolers when one of them tells me that I will get a better workout and more weight if I get a good "bounce" on the way down. WTF, am I the only one this happens to?
Or is it normal to get bad advice from people half your age?

What, you don't use the "power-bounce" method? I added 20lbs to my max and only cracked one rib, a worthy exchange.

True that!, I have incorperated the 'Swing stroke' to my dumbell and barbell curls. If it wasnt for the chest bounce I would still be maxed out at 80lbs on my press!

You know I hear and see stuff like this all the time.
Even when I started out I never did the retarded shit and bad form that younger guys today use.
It seems easy to figure out the right way to lift if you just use your ****in' brain.

yeah, because we are taught in high school that it doesn't matter how you get the weight up, just that it gets lifted, we had one kid in my high school that would put his feet on the bench, knees bent, then bounce the bar off his chest and throw his butt into the air arching his back till i thought it would break, yelling and grunting and screaming till he got it up...............then he would set the 135lbs worth of weight back into the rack

knock on wood, I never have anyone try to give me advice at my gym. I would just put my earbuds back in in the middle of it anyway. My young sometime w/o partner is full of useful advice, like you need to be eating like 5 to 10 thousand calories a day bro. That is an actual piece of advice he gave me.

LMAO, my workout partner is 6'0, 280lbs at probably 15-16%, dude is huge and about 28-30 i think, maybe older, the funny part is that i'm the one giving him advice all the time and helping him with his training and diet, seems kinda backwards

Luckily the only advice I have gotten in the gym so far has actually been really helpful. All of it has had to do with legs.

80% of the people at the new gym I go to have the worst form on tricep pushdowns I've ever seen. People literally use every muscle but there triceps just so they can do more weight

    My response would have been

"Nah, I prefer to lift the weight properly" or something like that. Hell, if I wasn't in the mood I wouldn't even say anything.

I must be lucky. Nobody ever talks to me at the gym.

Sometimes I see someone doing something stupid and I am tempted to help them out, but I never do. I don't want their advice so they probably don't want mine.
