I need a cool/unique mothers day gift idea.
I hate reading through sites because most of them are being paid by advertisers or most of them are just unoriginal.
My mom likes to cook more then anything. Doesn't really travel or anything.
My initial idea was to get that Nuwave Infrared Cooker which is suppose to cook food faster, more evenly and healthy.
Then when I started reading reviews today I'm not really crazy about it anymore:
http://www.infomercialratings.com/product/nu_wave_oven
Reviews aren't terrible but not really impressive either.
I want to get her some kind of unique cooking device. Or if anyone has any other cool ideas I'm all ears.
Thanks!

mothers day is ALWAYS the second sunday in may, this year its may 10th
with that...does you mom have an upscale cooking set..pots and pans? thats always a good one if she does not...
or something simpler is a kick ass recipe book by some really famous/good chef with all the ingredients needed to make one of the great meals that lie within in the book...that way, you get a great meal out of it too

Yeh you know shes kind if a typical stubborn italian mom in that way.
We have got her great books in the past and they kinda wound up collecting dust and not being used.
Shes been cooking her wholelife which also makes her think shes the best cook alive, which she might be in all honesty lol.
The pots and pans is a good idea but that seems like one of those "I'd rather spend money then think of something unique".
No offense at all, I'm just trying to think of something a bit less thought of already.

I was actually thinking about just having some expensive gourmet place deliver to her, I'm not a great cook but I think if I put time into I might be able to pull something off.
I actually kinda like this idea because shes always the one cooking for literally everyone on the holidays, even her own birthday she cooks food for everyone.
Itd have to be a meal like noone ever ate before lol

And for the record my mom has always been the best mother in the world and I'm not just saying that.
But recently shes been helping me and my brother out A LOT with a new house we're moving into, like buying us furniture and doing all the asthetic work, so this year for mothersday and her birthday I really wanna do something special, like something to make her remember why she had kids lol

start off take her to breakfast
then to the spa, for the works
then to lunch, leaving her with some flowers and candy
one you spent the whole day with her,
second she feels good and younger...

I have a Nuwave, I'd give it 5 stars out of 10. It's not all that good. Meat is dry, doesn't bake bread very well. My old toaster oven worked better . . .
If nothing else, you might try a pre-paid card good for
1) a month's worth of groceries at her favorite supermarket
2) gourmet spices
3) steaks
4) spiral-cut ham (there's some company that specializes in this)
or, find some local expert to sharpen all her knives, or a cooking instructor of local reknown to give her a cooking lesson in his kitchen.
The possibilities stagger the imagination . . .

Due this sounds corny but I promise if she cooks she needs and will use these, You will need to get something else also but these are a must for any cook. Williams and sonoma has salt and pepper shakers that are stainless steel When you press the button on the top it grands the salt or pepper and als shines a light on the food so you can see exaclty how mush is going os. They are $110 and I have gotten everyone I now a set and continue to get gratitude on them over other gifts.
