    its a common practice in texas. If you watch the video you can here popping noises in the back ground. They were either using a large amount of firecrackers or dynamite. You throw it in the water and it makes such a concusion in the water that the fish jump straight in the air. The spot light just adds to them freaking out. Most people ive seen though rig a net on the side of the boat so you can catch even more.
