Crotch Rocket. 09 CBR 1000rr
So I'm still plannin on buying a 2009 Honda CBR 1000rr. I am curious to who else rides? The 09 honda's are the newest to the industry. The better model has ABS brakes which is a break through for motorcycles.. Well I am not a racing type guy. I highly doubt I will ever take the bike to the track. This isn't the first time I've ridden so dont doubt my ability to ride a litre bike. The ABS version costs a $1,000. more. the only thing that 1k covers is that it has .4 inches of more travel in the Front Suspension. Then the ABS brakes. The ABS version is about 14 grand. god damnnn.. Well thats all I have for now.

ive always had/rode dirt bikes. recently had to get rid of my damn dirtbike
i personally hate crotch rockets, would never own one...too many douches and posers ride those! no offense LOL
although if i were ever to buy a crotch rocket, i do like honda cbr's, but my 1st choice would be a Triumph
in about a year i want to buy a VRSC (V-ROD muscle) by Harley Davidson, the '09's are sweet lookin!

kewl
I ride a liter bike too, love it, and I'm not a racing type guy either. I go fast within my comfort zone, but I don't ride on the bitter edge or feel I have the confidence or skill to do so like some of my friends.
ABS has been around awhile
Honda uses it on the goldwing in a linked system so you get front and rear brake at the same time when you squeeze.
Ducati had put it on the ST4 back in 2003 but I'm not sure about true sport bikes
Anyway, ABS apeals to me for my next bike. I've locked the front wheel before and the bike really wants to kiss the pavement when that happens. I was lucky enough to keep it up when someone cut me off at speed...but that fvcker wanted to buck me off hard, and I even dragged a shoe at like 40 something mph as part of the recovery (it was on wet slick concrete, and really got my heart pumping I might add). I was not so lucky one time when someone slammed on their brakes in the middle of an intersection, but I had slowed down to like 10mph by the time I dropped it, and with frame sliders suprizingly there was no damage.
I'd like to at least try a bike with ABS and see how it feels.

ya.. The last time I had wrecked my 98 cbr 900rr it was cuz i locked up the front wheel.. more like i squeezed hard in a hurry and the wheel just locked .. didnt help that there was lil shingle dust on the pavement.. i wrecked in a parking lot.. u know the gritty shingle dust that comes off of shingles.. well there was that on the groud. anyways.. i ****ed myself and the bike up.. i dont want a crotch rocket again just cuz it sucks wrecking but i love riding them.

I have a new body style Yammi R6. Love every second of it. Liter bikes are sexy. Do it.

if ur paying in cash dont get a new bike. with the economy people are just giving away their toys to pay their mortgage. ive seen some crazy prices. half the bikes i see for sale atleast here in socal have less than 500 miles on them and honestly ive seen some with like a 100.

i like 600's but i gotta have a liter bike.. the acceleration is just awesome. i gotta have that power u know what i mean. i do like the yammi's body styles.. But i've always been a honda man.. sorta like how I have always been a chevy man too.

Lightsout2184, very good point.. i do want a 09.. by the time i plan on buying it there should be more people who have them. If the bike has less than 1k miles then i might consider buyin it. The bike that I had before had a couple thousand miles on it. I just want something damn near new. Did i make any point in why? lol. my brain hasn't been workin lately. Its a crotch rocket and a new bike reassures me that the bike hasnt been beat on.

i miss goin down the interstate at like 70-80mph and come up to some cars that are takin forever to pass, so i just kick it down a gear then go right between the two vehicles.. lol.. i would love to see their faces.. they are probably like god damn kids.. or that fuker is gonna kill himself.. hahah..
or how about when there isnt anyone on the interstate and u hit a straight away and just throttle it until u reach top speed.. flyin down the highway at 170mph is the shit.. well the new 09 tops out at like 180 i think. it aint no busa but hey 180 is good enough for me.

170 must be rediculous, i thought 150 was insane.

I agree is DSM4Life, go with a GSXR. I rode an R1 for a few years and had a buddy with a CBR, we always seemed to be edged out by the GSXR in performance.

Lots of good choices here.
I like to track bikes, but the big boys are hard to control for me. Had a downpayment on an R6 but the potholes in this city are f'en ridiculous so I scrapped that idea cause the gravel from winter doesnt get cleared till almost june. Had a BMW R1100S which I sold last year.
GSXR does everything pretty damn good. But if you're not going to push to the limits, just buy the one you like the most and enjoy riding it.

I have the R-1 and a Ninja 10R, love both my bikes and try and ride as much as I can, but If I was you I would not go brand new in these time, you can get a used on for much less, check out cycleworld.com....they have great buys.....

I think all the 4 jap brands make superb litre bikes.

Bro...people seem to skip 600s and go straight to 1000's. its a mistake. People think because its a smaller bike that its an entry level bike and its not. My 600 is a ****ing animal and runs like a beast from hell. of course a 1000 is faster. But think about it. You dont need that power. Not right from the get go.

^he said he's ridden before, and yeah 600's are stupid fast, more shifting, less torque but still plenty of fun^
