Music/Metal fans, check out some of my stuff...

Hey guys, thought it was bout time I started putting some of the music I've made over the years up on the net. None of these are finished products, just stuff I've whipped together, and all of the songs on this site are old (recorded when I was 15/16/17), except the "april no bass" one at the top. That one is new and it's just guitars and drums, no bass guitar in there yet, and it hasn't been mixed properly just kinda tossed together.

Anyways, have a listen and let me know what you think

Oh yeah this isn't a band project either, I have a band that I'm almost done recording an album with, this is just stuff I've done up on my own.

thanks man. singing eh, I can, both my parents are singers and I naturally have a decent voice but I hate doing it it's a personal phobia of mine to sing in front of people hahah. I have a singer in my band, this stuff is just long ass tripped out instrumentals. PS playing guitar is more fun than singing.

Good stuff. I think April is my favorite.

You said this was something you whipped up yourself? Is that you drumming too?

    "The 5th" was pretty cool.
But it may have just been the Bill Cosby photo that convinced me.

No I program the drums, and play everything else. and yah, April is me in my new form, all the other ones are old as hell and I was 15-17 just figuring out what I was doing. I'm still figuring that out, but I've learned a lot since then.

The recordings up there are using a BC rich exclusive, it's a rare one put it's pretty much a PRS but with a thin neck, 24 frets and has EMG's in it. April is recorded with a POD X3 and the old ones are using a Vox Tonelab floorboard...Live I use a Marshall JCM 900 but I'm switching a Peavey 5150 cause the marshall isn't cutting it

Thanks man, yah it's kind of a combo of music you'd listen to to get jacked up, and music you could listen to while "entoxicated" with headphones and take a bit of a journey. Mostly because those are 2 things I enjoy to do...

Hmm that means you either liked it or thought it ruined music. Either way, nice.

Hahah thanks man, that's best response I could ask for. Your cash in in the mail....I appreciate it though, and I'm working on another one which I'll post up when I'm done but it probably won't be for a week or two.

Thanks for listening even though it's not your style man, to be honest a lot of metal is boring to me, but I like taking it and trying to put a little bit of a different spin on it, the intensity of heavy music is the only thing that satisfies my insanity haha.

I wish they were streamed at a higher quality (320 kbps), take some of the 'fog' out of the music. Awesome sound though, are we able to dl these at all?

for sure man I hear you, it sucks but the site has a 10 mb limit and my songs are long so the only choice was to lower the quality. I'm just figuring out my way around that site so I'll switch em to downloadable when I get the time/figure out how! Thanks for listening man

I'm not a metal fan so I can't really review as its not my genre, but I've been producing trance for 6 years and the first thing I noticed was all your sub frequencies seem low for some reason, which really shouldnt be washed out even if its low fi.

Are you mastering these songs at all? If have Izotope and Waves masterings suites that I use with FL Studio and Cubase, so if you need anyone to bring levels where they should be let me know!

I just ran it through a boost inside of sonar, I havn't worried too much about mix or anything yet as I havn't even recorded bass guitar for it, it's just drums and guitars so I really didn't throw a whole lot of effort into "finishing" it as I'm gonna put bass, some keyboard layers, etc. I know what you mean though the lack of low end is noticable.

    Are those programs just VST?

Yep but the waves mercury bundle is around $6,000 alone, not that higher price = better but they are absolutely the most useful tools for masterings Ive ever came across.

    http://www.waves.com/content.aspx?id=175

I'm not a professional sound engineer but I do know how to use them and Id be glad to play around with any of your tracks. Just to show you how some proper mastering can really bring essential depth into the mix.

If you ever wanna do it I just need each instrument/channel rendered as seperate wavs preferably 24bit. Only because metal unlike trance is one genre that benefits A LOT from mastering. Trance has a lot less recording going on so a lot less room for inteference/phasing and all that good stuff.

    Just let me know!
