All Shall Perish-The Price of Existence. You'll love it.
You could also get some Between the Buried and Me, The Devil Wears Prada, Bring Me the Horizon and Haste the Day. All good bands.

Personally I say go old school, Such as
PANTERA- cowboys from hell, vulgar display, far beyond driven.
METALLICA- black album, master of puppets.
DOWN (nola)- lead singer was Phil from Pantera before he went to Pantera.

Damn guys you need to chill on this "metal-core" stuff.
That shit is for 16 year olds and guys who wear girl's jeans and comb their hair in their face.
Stick to real metal... haha.. yeah I'm being that guy right now...

    Amon Amarth
    Cynic
    The Red Chord
    A Life Once Lost
    Botch
    Converge
    Terror

You guys would probably like those bands... they're heavy but without any of the cheesedick singing parts and breakdowns and shit.

Black/death/doom/stoner metal is where it's really at in my opinion.

I agree, but Phil started Down after Pantera had already been around for years.

Old Megadeth, Anthrax, Ministry, Danzig and shit like that is also badass.
I think it blows all these new bands away for sure.

thanks for correcting me, I couldn't remember which happened first. But mostly all of these new bands are for the wussy generation. Alot are in need of some serious discipline.

I've only heard of 3 of those bands, lacuna coil (Gothic?), combichrist (is not even metal, its EBM, lol!) and In flames (watered down melo-death), they don't have anything in common so its hard to recommend something from a specific genre.

I strongly suggest you listen to proper metal, start off with some old school death metal (80's/early 90's)

Death - Scream bloody Gore (1987)
