Thread: I hope all you cops are proud

What a great lesson to teach our children, these people should be setting an example.
How can anyone expect criminals to go straight if the people policing us are worse criminals...

Im just curious exactly at who is expecting criminals to go straight?
I think that falls more along the lines of a utopian society then the reality history has afforded us for thousands of years of rape/murder/and genocide.
Expectations again are the only thing that can let us down. Maybe I should start a thread about an ex con who jumped into an icey lake to save someones life.. not exactly what wed expect.
But the fact is theres A LOT of criminals who become positive romodels, wayy more then cops who occasionally lose it. But we will NEVER focus on the criminal doing something good, or the cops doing something good, we just like to see all the negative shit.
The point Im trying to make is even with all the terrible horrendous shit that goes on in this world, the fact that we just focus on it more doesnt mean it actually happens more. And I think humans have more positive intention as a whole then negative, and I also think this thread does a great job sweeping that fact under the carpet.

Ok Mr. Bo
So you say our history is based on rape/murder/and genocide and use that to reinforce the notion that humans have some sort of innate "positive intention"? How exactly does that work? If humans are innately good, why is our history plagued with blood?
The people who expect criminals to go straight are the people who look at countries with low crime rates, and understand as outlandish an idea as you propose it is, many countries have drastically lower crime rates then the US.
This is a fact.
So naturally many people would expect that its possible to incoporate new laws and programs that will aid and nuture the seperation of criminals from criminal activity. Programs like this are already operating within the US, the development of halfway houses and recovery programs for prisoners.
You having such low expectations for people (you place so much emphasis on people having "high expecations" and how it ultimately works against them) also doesn jive with your concept of "positive intention". If you think humans have positive intention, then why do you admit to having such low expectations for them?
Police may undergoe less intensive training then a cia agents but they also do not NEED to undergoe intensive training for much of what they encounter on a daily basis is mundane compared to what feds must deal with.
Also, if police feel they can't rectify a problem alone, they can simply call in feds to work WITH THEM. Its not an absolute predicament as you describe.
Most importantly, this thread is based on the idea that police frequently abuse their power and get away with it. The normal citizen would serve 2 years for assualt for what happened to that woman.
How do you think she feels knowing the guy who gave her a facial reconstruction is out and about completely free? The same person who has the narcisistic audacity as an upholder of the law, to coldly beat a nonarmed/nonthreatening women to near unconsciousness?
Police are to serve and protect, not serve and BRING HARM TO the ones theyre suppose to protect.
So why dont you take your dr phil wannabe, radically massive contradiction of a life and just go fvck a poodle..

They do it cause they can....
For the most part, cops are unqualified to do anything else, particularly anything meaningful, or they'd be doing it. They are pathetic bullies who have an overblown ego. This shit happens EVERY DAY in America. People turn a blind eye to it and the court system and the rest of the "just-us" system does nothing to protect the people. It's only when the crime perpetrated by the police is so blatant, so repulsive and the evidence can't be hidden, that the cop loses his job.
If we lived in a moral nation that cop would be put in prison and never again see the light of day. Our system is corrupt and we serve the government and those who are employed by the system.
Had the lady that was beaten understood that, she could have saved herself the injuries from that savage attack.
