    Alien remake in the pipeline..

    http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/16348

Are Hollywood really running out of ideas now? Why is it that the only films being churned out are remakes, comic book adaptations or remakes of old comic book adaptations??

I for one am not happy about seeing a remake of Alien. Haven't any of the Directors of today got a shred of orginality? Im also completely over CGI effects in films, I mean cmon, have you ever seen a film where CGI has been used and your eyes and brain were fooled into thinking that was real? I haven't. The brain is still light years ahead of CGI technology, even todays standards. Prostetics, costumes and animatronics has always looked, far, FAR more realistic to me and I fear seeing CGI chest burster coming out of the chest of some Zach Efron poster boy looking wannabe in a remake will forever ruin the true original of Ridley Scotts.

    RANT OVER!!!

Man that would be a very shitty idea!! A prequel could work if done correctly, but actually remaking Alien is FUKING stupid!

I read this and was not happy at all. They are even remaking Fright Night now! Both of these movies are classics and just need to be left alone.

Believe it or not, The Matrix is already 10 years old. I mean does that mean in 5 years time, that film is going to be ripe for a remake?

they're not remaking the original alien it is the prequel-its meant to be th story about the original derelict spacecraft where kane gets latched onto by a facehugger and we first meet the aliens. when i first heard they were making alien 5 i had a similar reaction due to the shit the franchise is turning out-alien resurection, the avps and didnt want any more bastardisation of the original movies. but i liked the sound of the idea of dvelving into how the original ship got there blah blah-because this would tie in perfectly with the 3 original movies-all of the aliens in the original trilogy were bred from the ship found on LV-426. orrite thats my geek speak for the day i f**king love those movies

I agree that many movies have lost originality, but can you blame the producers? People are lining up more than ever to see this shit, so they will keep producing as long as people keep buying tickets.

I dont really watch the remakes to be honest, i usually check out the trailer and if it sucks like the recent halloween remake and the one coming in october i just dont bother watching the movie.

Has for Alien well we know that the Alien effects will be amazing, but they will never be able to create the same tension and feeling like they did back in 1979, that movie is a classic for sure.

Wait a minute its not a remake its a prequel, and Ridley Scott is directing it well that changes everything, i am all for this.

I tought they where going to remake the original 1979 movie. There have been talks for an Alien 5 movie for quit some time now, i remember that back in 1999 rumores where very strong.

Some movies need to be left alone because there aint nothing like the original one. But there have been few movies they did remakes of and just kick azz. We will see how this one goes.

Yeah, they may as well re-create Species, remarkably one of the worst sci-fi films ever.

    That or Hollow Man.

Watchmen was DOPE though, and Wolverine was OK considering it was PG-13 and they didn't film a single drop of blood. Weak.

If you want to watch a really bad movie, check out Private Resort, the National Lampoon's 1980's Johnny Depp flick. "Breasts are Ogled" ..Go Mr. Depp! Rock those LSD master-Teletubby phantasms.
