i forgot to mention Xcaret. it is a really nice zoo/aquarium in cancun that you can do stuff like swim with the dolphins and thay also have these underground tunnells that you can snorkel in. you may want to check that out as well.

I stayed at the Riu Caribe...its not bad, if you want to really enjoy your experience hit up the Riu Cancun (its newer and cleaner!).

Gotta hit up Coco Bongo niteclub, best club in Cancun!

Careful taking the local bus into town!!! The drivers are reckless and you take your life in your hands!!! haha

If you guys go clubbing Coco Bongos and The City are the two best clubs IMO... Senor frogs was the trashiest but it was still a hell of a lot of fun.

If you take a night and go out to eat i absolutely loved the Hard Rock cafe there, i got the mac & cheese with chicken and it was delicious.

I never had a problem with ice or anything like that in my water, i brushed my teeth everyday and happened to swallow a little bit of water. Everywhere you go there is bottled water, i actually went to the party store the first day i arrived and bought about 5 gallons of water for my hotel room.

My hotel had a little sushi restaurant that was outside over looking the beach, if yours does i recommmend stopping in there for a bite.

Have fun and be safe, it's a great time!

I stayed there 2 years ago and its amazing. A few tips:

1) Do not drink any water, only Bottled water.
2) Pop/Soda is very flat unless it is from a bottle, if its fountain pop avoid it.
3) They will not use ice in your drinks because of the water quality so make sure you stay away from ice.
4) Ask for free things, especially better liquor/beer

my girl and i are going to cancun and staying at the riu caribe on july 31 maybe i will see you there. I have been to cancun three times and every time i go there i rent a scooter so i can come and go as i please its much easier than taking a cab every time you wanna go shopping. Also when you get there get in good with the event promoter at the hotel he can tell you what the hot spots are for that night and hook you up with discounts on trips like swimming with the dolphins, seeing the ruins etc..... hope this post was helpful.

Coco and the City is the best. While waiting in line for the city people are walking around pouring tequila down your face, as much as you can take. Coco is pretty good but do not go on night that they have the foam shit. because people will be so drunk and trowing up in it and it is ****ing gross. I went all inclusive and the hotel hat 5 bars first one opened at 10am so we were ready to go every day by that time and not hit the sack until 6 am.
I would say go as far at district 28 and not any further. right past that i ran into a federally on every corner with M16's. watch the buses , the first day I was their a girl was k9lled becuase she stepped off the curb and bam bus killed her on the spot. taxis are very scary. they drive twice the speed limit and do not stop for anything. And I dont know about the pharmacy's down there. everyone I went into trying to get my xanax refilled with my own prescription bottle kicked me out all 6 of them. bought bottle water first of every morrning and then it was straight alcohol from then until bed time. I must say i would not ever go there with a g/f or a wife. i would go to Cosmel or something like that.

Ive been to Cancun several times. Do you dive? Some good cave diving up the road about 1 hr away. LOTS of good choices on pyramids/ruins to go visit (Chichén Itzá in Yucatán but unfortunately you cant climb them anymore. I'm glad i went when you still could.

Visit a cenotes (underground river/lake) they are cool.
make sure you visit Senior Frogs on a Friday/Saturday night, it's hoppin. LOL When I was there it was about 50/50 girls/guys until a boat of about 30 girls pulled up all Hispanic, all cute wearing white toga style dresses and NO I wasnt drunk but my stupid/must be gay friend didnt want to stay and I'm not much good alone or didnt use to be...

Fishing isnt bad, I did that there once but honestly there are some HUGE fish you can catch right at the docks LOL

Visit a strip club/whore house just for a good laugh. They want more there than hookers in the US hahahahah I had some guy trying to hook me up wiht a Mexican girl for $300 He said dont you want to have a Mexican beauty? Enjoy the sun. Make sure since you are all inclusive you get your money worth and drink/eat a lot.

A little advice, if you're only going for the weekend just spend your time at the resort and enjoy it. You don't have enough time to do anything else substantial and you'll regret it cause you'll feel as though you don't have the time to really enjoy yourself. Everything will feel rushed. Not to mention everything worth doing is pretty far away (tulum, chitzan itza, etc), which will take a few hours just to get to. Just go to the resort and enjoy yourself. There's probably more to do there then you'll have time for. If you like it plan a longer trip, which is what we plan on doing after spending 5 days there in January and feeling like it wasn't enough time to do much.

Only the weekend? Yeah it's a total waste since you are staying in an all inclusive resort to go out and travel if you are only there for a couple days.. Flights are CHEAP right now. I think I will go again soon just to take my daughter somewhere this summer but if you are going to stay long enough to do any sight seeing dont stay in an all inclusive, save the money.

Bring back Tequila, buy ONLY 100 Agrave and it does not have to be expensive to be good. I usually bring back 1 or 2 full liter souvenir bottles Go to either Costco if there is one close or a Mega supermarket for the best prices, forget the little stores.
