ok, so - I was born in 1980...I grew up on Transformers, GI Joe, Astroboy, etc.

i've seen the trailers and commercials for the new G.I. Joe....

WTF?!?!?!?!!?

Since when did they strip their army uniforms and jeeps, and get high tech robotic "accelerator suits" and ninja swords, and do huge back flips thru the city, and fly off buildings, and blast thru busses with their bodies?

way to ruin G.I. Joe

I hope they don't butcher the new astroboy movie coming this year too.....ugh.

first transformers, now this...but in comparison, transformers isn't as much of a hackjob as this BS.

Yeah I've very disapointed too. I was hoping it would be awesome, but they totally ruined it. I'm not going to even bother watching. (which is unusual since I normally love that type of movie)

I bet if they hadn't referred to it as GI JOE everyone would go see it and say it was a KICK ASS ACTION FLICK but since they named it GI JOE and ruined the GI JOE name people are automatically going to say it sucks and is not worth seeing...

Everyone I know thought that was going to be like part 2 of the original you know charlie actually taking over the factory.. but NO they basically changed the name and remade the original..,HORRIBLY I MIGHT ADD

First off...there were ninja swords in the original GI JOE cartoon: Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes always had swords and sweet ninja moves. I cannot recall for certain, but I think Tomax and Xamot (evil twin brothers) and possibly one of Zartan's crew also used swords...or maybe it was a bow and arrow?

The suits are retarded. I am going to see this movie tomorrow, but I have no expectations for it to be good.

I was not aware that Destro was even in the movie, but I would guess that there is a chance this movie will end with him being injured and needing a mask...set up for GI JOE 2.

What's with all these ****ing cartoon/comicbook film adaptations? If it's not those it's remakes. Have Hollywood truly run out of ideas now?

The only two films im looking forward to this month are Inglorious Basterds and Antichrist.

Go see the movie 1st and then tell me what you think!!! I saw it last night (early premeir here in Vegas). It was great. I was born in '73. So I remember when they shrank Joe from 12" to 3". Destro does don the mask in the movie. Swords have always been in Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes arsenal (as they are ninja clan brothers). The accelerator suits...well I'll let you see the movie.

We were so poor we did not have a dam T.V. though, lol. Single drunk mom with 4 kids.

All I know is other kids in school had the toys and shirts.

I totally love that they pretended Highlander 2 didn't exist, and went back to the original story for the next 3 movies.

Not that big of a fan of this last one with only Duncan McCloud. THey just are not that same without Conner, although the video game that features Owen McCloud is pretty cool too.

BTW Sean Connery needs to make a comeback and do something. I iwshed he was in the last Indiana Jones movie, even if just for a cameo...

went and seen it this morning...it wasn't that bad!!!....yeah it wasn't the same as the cartoon....but it was still badass...destro gets his mask at the end...there will be another soon....i won't say anymore lol

Yupe he does, movie is very good actually, a type of turn off your brain cell and enjoy movie, special effects are crazy too

I never was really into GI Joe as a kid. It was all about Transformers, Dungeons and Dragons, Knightmare, Thundercats and Bravestar!

Unfortunately Sean Connery has stated he is retired and was offered the chance to come back in the last Indy movie but turned it down. He said he made a commitment to retire and will stay so. I know it sucks.

BG, just took the kids to go see it this morning... I thought it was pretty awesome and a lot better than Transformers II. That one had me dizzy too and I didn't care for it due to the fact that they had to make Optimus Prime die, which would never have happened on the cartoon.

Anyways the GI Joe was some pretty awesome action....half kids/half cool action flic. I've heard a lot like it and a lot don't... that's my opinion though.
