Air vs Liquid
Ok so I want to upgrade my cpu cooler. This is where Im at. Air: Here Im thinking about 2. The Thermalright true black ultra-120 and the Zalman cnps10x extreme. Both got good reviews and i know the true is better but by a small margin. Liquid: Firstly this will be my first time i deal with water so i wanted something easy and all in 1. So i decided on the Coolit Domino. Its small, easy to install and cools good. Great set for newbies I think. So thats where Im at. All of them are more or less in the same price range. So what u guys think?

Liquid will always cool better then air but it all depends on your computer, are you going to be overclocking, is it hot around your house. Many things have to be considered.

Ok well I want to overclock. As for temps. Spring just started a week ago and is already 28c and it isnt even summer yet. Luckily my study doesnt get any sun but is still hot. Another reason I was thinking to go water is dust. Hope this helps. Anything else you need?

Forgot to ask what aftermarket cooler would u suggest for a HD4890? The card is running freaking hot and noisy! Thanx in advance!

Do you mean the Ati 4890? I have a 4870 1 gig and it runs hot as well. I just turn up my fan on the card and it is fine. I can handle some of the sound. Also isn't spring sone and almost summer is done as well?

Yeah it's a Ati 4890. I do turn the fan speed up when it gets hot, but damn that card gets noisy. Nah spring just started and it's hot as hell. Don't even wanna know how hot our summer is gonna be this year. So what do u think about my cpu dilema? I'm starting to lean more to the waters side.

If you are wanting to cool your Pc there are pro's and con's from fan to water
A fan is easier to install and cheaper then water however does not provide as much cooling as a fan. Water is you get what you pay for and it provides the betterment of cooling and is a bit harder to install. It will all depend on your needs.

I need a cool, quiet and clean PC. OH and dont forget fast! LOL
I think I will go the water route. Can't always take the easy route and at the end it will be worth it. Now I just need to get a new hdd again. Space, just never enough! lol

a really good air cpu, nice good wire managment and good case ventalation is just as good or better then a equally priced water cooling system. Stay on air IMO unless you really need to go water, and even then if you get a water cooling setup for that price it wont be what you expect.

Thanx for all the advice guys. I think i'll stick to air. The water cooling market by me isn't that big and very little to choose from. So air it is! Thanx again!

I always like liquid cooling. Nice little touch when people see your PC and it definately will cool a system much better. Air is always the cheaper option though.
