Why are you going? Because he want to send you does not mean you have to go. I say just get a new doc unless you agree you have some issues.
How did it started( why did u visit in the first place)
they give out drugs like candy these days...just don't say you want to pop as many of them as possible to see what it feels like and he'll write you a script.
but provigil isn't cleared for adhd as far as I know, so they might try to convince you of another medicine. Some trials of provigil look promising and some not so good. I always wanted to try it...I'm on vivanse now.
The psychiatrist is prob not gonna prescribe you what you want, right off the back that will make him suspicious if you know what medication you want exactly.
Usually they go with the big names, like Zoloft (seratline) which has been around for 15-20 years and is widely documented or other major SSRI medication.
Most psychiatrist take their **** seriously, well at least in Florida because of recent problems with prescription drug dealing.
zoloft for ADD?
most psych's will give you what you want if you want to try something and you aren't exibiting drug seeking behavior or have previous drug problems.
The medications used for ADD are almost all schedule two drugs anyway. Schedule II is more regulated then steroids. Provigil is a C-IV being a lower classification so they shouldn't have a problem if you want to try it. They may try to steer you away because of their ideas on precieved effectiveness, but they will likely give it out without too much objection. The only non schedule drug is strattera, which I think is total shit and made my penis nothing but a paper weight/pee tube. But it was different so I wanted to try it.
If you appear well informed and taking an interest in your own health, my experience is they don't have a problem letting you try what you want.
Im not depressed so zoloft is not an option, i dont want anything that puts me in LaLa land, i just want to be more focused, like zeroed in, i googled ADD and there might as well been a pic of me next to it, lol
so my Primary doc told me to see a Psychiatrist
Try to get ur hands on piracetam
