I'll tell you what I do that usually ends the conversation really quick. It works on the basis that 99% of the population doesn't know a damn thing about steroids.
But this is how it usually goes.
(him) "Hey laduem I know you like working out and staying in shape but I'm really worried that steroids are going to ruin your life.."
(you) "Thanks bro, I appreciate your concern, but what exactly did you hear that steroids can do to me?"
***** Now that may seem like a perfectly logical question which it is, but most conversations turn laughable at this point. You'll notice when most people say "steroids are bad" they're actually just regurgitating what they heard on the news last week/night about steroids, what their dumb shit coach told them (not all coaches are dumb ftr), what their brother/buddy told them. Actually usually anything but appropriate scholarly/medical journals.
Any way, most people begin to choke after that 1 question.
This is usually what comes out of their mouth.
(him) "Steroids cause cancer for one"
(you) "Really? Thats funny, cause I've been researching steroids for ____ years, in medical journals, sports journals, and believe it or not theres not a single study I ever read linking steroids to cancer"
(you) "What credible source/person did you hear this from?"
(them) "MSNBC did a 1 hour special about it lastnight"
(you) "Really? MSNBC also did a special 2 weeks ago warning the public about the dangers of vitamin c... and you know what? when I actually decided it might be smart to get a second CREDIBILE opinion... other then the proproganda based media, I found that NOT ONE person has ever got sick, ill, or had any adverse side affects from vitamin c since the begining of time. Yes, even the greeks recorded and knew the benefits of lots of vitaminc c"
(you) "And you know what else? Steroids are prescribed to cancer patients, do you think if steroids actually caused cancer that this would be a common medical practice? Did you also ever consider the fact that you just might not know shit about steroids?
I have been reading about this crap nearly everyday since I turned 18 and I can assure you the benefits of steroids to an educated user GREATLY outweigh the consequences. Steroids don't kill people anymore then guns kill people. But if you want to count REAL numbers, the amount of people who die from alcohol and tobacco wouldn't even make the amount of people who die from steroids a drop in bucket. Matter a fact, it wouldn't even be enough water vapor to fill the inside of a flies asshole up. So please, if you ever wanna have a conversation about steroids with me again, spend about 5 years researching them, using them and actually KNOWING something about them other then watching a "1 hour special" on MSNBC you worthless fvck. I'm sure you think you know something about them cause your best friends fathers last cousin took d bol this one time last year, but I shoot that shit in my eye balls and eat live chickens like its going outta style. If you ever as so much murmor the word "d bol" again, I will shit in your moms mouth and burn your house down.
Any questions?"
