    Vacationing in Mexico

Me and the gf are thinking of going somwhere to an all inclusuive in January. Now there some sweet deals on a bunch of 5 star resorts that look amazing. Everyone i talk to keeps saying to stay away from mexico due to a bunch of recent murders, abductions, and drug trafficing problems.

I was just wondering what you guys think about it, and if anyone has any experiences/opinions in it. I personally don't see it is a huge deal (but still not something to be taken lightly), but maybe someone can enlighten me?

Honestly I have been there the last 2 years and there is nothing wrong...just stay in the Tourist areas and you will be fine. If you want something romantic look into Cabo San Lucas or Puerta Vallarta. Acapulco can be romantic and is a good party place as well.

Cancun is a party city...if you want to party definitely go here!

Why go to Mexico when we have it all right here?

The things your friends and family are talking about is happening outside of the tourist areas. I go to Mexico every year. Actually I'll be in Cozumel first week of January. Outside of Mexico I would recommend the Atlantis in the Bahamas or maybe a resort in st Thomas.

I took my daughter 2 months ago and usually got 2x a year myself. It's 100% fine in the tourist areas and the best part is all this bad publicity has made the prices come back down

If you plan on staying pretty much at one hotel and not doing a LOT of sight seeing do an all inclusive hotel. They usually have 4 or 5 restaurants and one that is open 24/7, all your food and drinks are free including room service. It's the best way to go unless you plan on being away from the hotel a lot and eating out.
