Yeah, and McElroy rushed for NEGATIVE 27 yards. Out here in California they teach us that when a negative number is added to a positive number, the positive number becomes smaller..... kinda like your capacity for critical thought.

ur right, he won all the games that never fvking meant anything.
and u dump on the sec for weak scheduling...what a fvking joke..

when the day is done, he will go down as a national championship loser....

and if u no anything about football u no that those are sacked yards, not true rushing yards.
cmon man, look thru the bullshit for a min..

No, because Upchurch rushed for nine, and there was another carry for -2.

198+9-2 = 205. Are you seriously this retarded?

  6. #166
Use your espn stats and count sacks for rushes. But Bama beat Texas with running the ball and pressure defense. Its that simple.

Why the hell would I cry when a team I hate lost to another team I hate? I don't give a shit who won the game. If the teams were switched, I'd be telling all the moronic Texas fans that they almost lost the game.

    1... Colt is a *****
    2... drdeath is an idiot
3... I was actually surprised with the game. I thought Alabama would have it easy with Colt in, but with him out, outright crush them... yet, this freshman, no experience kid, who looked like he had never thrown a football before, was one drive away from taking the lead with 2 minutes left. Bama defense held up. The way the game played out, it would def have been different with Colt in there.

  9. #169
Well you gotta consider that Bama was prepared for Colt.I don't think they would have brought as much pressure with him in the game.So it can go both ways. And Colt threw 3 INT against Nebraska so who can say he wouldn't have done the same if not more last night?

Well, even your best QBs have their bad games, so Colt throwing 3 INTs against Nebraska is irrelevant. Even Peyton Manning has his fair share of INTs against good defenses.

And with preparing for Colt, they should've smashed UT with Gilbert. It was like preparing for and knowing you should beat Brock Lesnar, then facing Dan Wheatley, and it goes to judges decision. That shouldn't happen....

Also, when someone like your star QB goes out, it doesn't just hurt the offense, but the entire team. Thats pretty demoralizing.

I can tell the guys on this forum who have never played the game at any level, much less at this or any level equivalent.

Cheap win? The best way to beat a team is to take out its best player. And that's what Bama did. Bama played way too conservative and almost lost because of that. But in the end the best defense stepped up and won the game. The team with the better players won. Talent trumps all. You bullshit assertion that you were commenting on coaching trumping talent was in direct response to my assertion that Bama was a more talented team, JDawg. Don't play coy! Texas loss and there is no excuse for the loss. The better team won...DEAL WITH IT!!!

Down by 3 with a few minutes to go with the entire game on a true freshmans back, 5 turnovers. You sure Bama is better?

I hate to say this, and NEVER start shit...but this is one of the dumbest (not the only dumb post though!) posts I read...lately at least. People who TRULY know the game would know Texas was considerably better of a team. Think about this...it's January 2006, Vince Young is ejected in the first PLAY of the game back when they were playing USC. What now? You think the Longhorns would have even come close to actually beating USC? Colt McCoy plays such a MASSIVE part in the longhorns game (not just offensive but heavily defensive, via team moral and don't forget field position!!!). The Gilbert kid, who was in high school a few months ago, was -4 through the first half compared to Colts +25 in the first minute. OVer a WHOLE half colt would have avoided the dreaded field positions Gilbert was leaving UT's kicker with. Bama started with the ball at the 50 every single play thru that game!!! The game was played on half a field! That is just a MINOR point I noticed when I was watching that game. Bama does not know a true hi-level passing game, even florida's passing game blows compared to Texas. With colts passing ability Texas would have stomped Bama. Instead they lost all passing game, and gave it to Gilbert who had to trade off with constant running plays for zero yards and minimal gains. A matter of fact UT's running game was impresive considered they lost their whole passing game which they are famous for. Oh I could go on and on...alot of people on here arent analyzing intelligently all the facts. I'm not saying bama didnt deserve to win. Someone said "they won so they won" and that is correct. But in the end the longhorns would have been a TOTALLY different team, had colt played. I am still amazed that colt threw his back to the defense during a QB run play, and in the first 2 minutes....what was he thinking? McCoy was an IDIOT for doing that!

oh and someone said something about NFL draft pick??? The best NFL players (or any pro sports players of all time) are never first picks or even first round picks, that is common sense to true sports enthusiasts. I was reading the other day about Nolan Ryan, which I remember was such a bad mother ****er, was drafted in the 12th round or something crazy like that. And your info is incorrect...McCoy was expected to go in the 2nd round last year when the Horns (and the Big12) had that huge mess up when they lost in the last 1-2 minutes to Texas Tech. THIS SEASON McCoy has proven himself and matured. I would predict a definate first round pick (maybe later but still first round), even with his shoulder injury which is likely all 'soft tissue' damage. Many people are quoting what they heard last season and the beginning of this season, which is much different then what people will be saying later on. If you dont truly know about sports, dont post like you do know.

The Horns QB Gilbert threw for loss, had no idea what he was doing, threw 4 interceptions (if i remember) and lost the ball couple times...he HURT the longhorns heavily and McCoy would have GREATLY HELPED the longhorns. It would be suffice to say the score would have been 30's to 7 or so Horns had McCoy played the whole game. The offense was ready to explode, at least that what I could see that first couple minutes up till Colt got injured. I feel real bad for the longhorns and now we will never know the truth...i'm sure even Bama fans have to be a little dissapointed.

I feel the same way.......Longhorns would of kill them big time.........I felt like Bama was lost at first and didn't have a chance......How can you win a football game without a Quarterback..... Texas Played Without a Quarterback or Offense.......It wasn't a real game...

thanks my brutha..........that's exactly what I"m saying......Bama won a extra easy game due to no Texas quarterback............fine Whatever..............If McCoy would of not got hurt......Texas would of killed Bama like a fvcking cockroach

as for the game, alabama won, period. thats all there is to it. maybe texas would of won with Colt but he didnt play and injuries are part of football. it dosnt really matter how they won or why, nobody will remember Colt in 5 years and alabama will still be known as the 2009 season champs

You think that my contention of coaching and discipline being more important than talent is bullshit? Have you ever heard of Bob Ladouceur? Are you telling me he had more talent than every team he faced for 14 seasons? And Stanford was more talented than USC in 2007? They must have been..... talent trumps all, right? For a guy as experienced as you that's a pretty lame comment.

And that comment was indeed in direct response to your comment that Alabama would win because they had better players.... but it had nothing to do with the coaching of either Bama or Texas. It was a general statement. Nobody was being "coy".

I never said talent trumps all, and I never said coaching doesn't matter. I said Bama would win because it had more talent. You insinuated that talent didn't matter and that Texas would win, although it was not as talented, it was better coached. Both of your assumptions proved false. Is Mack Brown a better coach? Maybe, but in the end, the more talented team won.

Sure you can pull a half dozen examples of a less talented team beating a more talented team, but at the end of the day, the more talented team wins more often than not. Statistics prove that. The top teams win not only because of coaching but because they attract the best talent. Any fool could see that and to believe otherwise is ridiculous.

Besides that, you pretend to be knowledgeable about the sport but yet none of your predictions on this game on the heisman proved true. You lost all credibility when nothing you stated came to fruition.

Well considering I NEVER MADE A PREDICTION on the this game, it would be all but impossible for me to have been wrong.... wouldn't it? And FYI, Gerhart won the Jim Brown Trophy and the Doak Walker Award.... this is the first time in the history of the awards that a running back who won the Heisman did not win either one of these. Every other running back won all three. It was also the slimmest voting margin in Heisman history.

    Mooseman33-u crack me up dude

Major25-no hatred towards u bro. but u cant keep saying well if Colt this and Colt that........u dont know what woulda happened if Colt never got hurt....So just because he got hurt........u think he woulda prolly went 24-25 for 425 yards and 3 TD's.....what if that wouldnt of happened. Do u really know for sure Texas woulda won if Colt didnt get hurt. We dont know.....but my opinion i think bama woulda found a way to win somehow.

Ok, JDawg...I admire your determination. There is no changing your mind, no matter how obvious. Anyway, I'm glad you are sticking by your team...and Gerhardt. Good debate brotha, take care!

Anyway, Texas has the best recruiting class going into the 2010 season. With the coaching change at USC and the turmoil in Florida, Texas and Alabama are enjoying the fruits.

Texas didnt loose because of Gilbert anyway. Gilbert hit a receiver in the hands in the end zone, it was dropped, and the next play was a interception. Then the shuffle pass hit the RB in the hands as well. the first half was because the rest of the team had trouble trusting him and was dropping balls. He did fine. Good job Bama. It would be nice if someone said that they really thought it would have been a better game if Colt was in there though.

BGMC, the best way to beat a team is to hurt their star player? what kind of allycat comment is that? Noone wants to see these men injured. A real competitor wants to beat them at their best for the purest victory. And no I dont want to compare resumes.

u play to win the game.
all that wanting to beat them at their best is for the media/kids. when ur in the trenches/or lockeroom, all u care about is winning, any means necessary.

nothing wrong with seeing someone injured, its part of the game.
and colt was injured on a very clean hit...

Sure moose I agree that it was a clean hit. No doubt not intended to disable him or anything. I was commenting on it being a strategy to disable someone as to being a subpar gamesmanship. I dont believe for a minute that anyone wants to win by hurting the other teams players in a way that puts them out of competition.
