    Home Theatre

Does anyone here have any experience with setting up one? I am looking at putting one in but have no idea where to start. I assume that ceiling mounted is the way to go but have no idea after that. Ideally I would like to go with a 110'' inch screen. Do all products have to be same brand or can you easily mix and match? How hard is it to run cable thru a set up like this as well? I would love to not only watch movies on this but games and fights as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks bros.

built one for my little brother

Made the screen myself. It's really easy...his screen is about 98''. Looks sick.
for a projector you need to keep it mind you need a dark room or it's gonna wash out.

It's easy, just time consuming to make it clean looking.
Netflix through the x-box 360 works like a champ. Picture is crystal clear, bright and beautiful.

basically you want to find a projector first,
you don't need to go crazy expensive to get a HD picture.
You can get something really good for about 1200 bucks.

Ceiling mount is the way to go. I built my own mount, but they are available for not much, maybe 100 bucks or so. Keep in mind you need to run video and electrical to the unit.

You need an amp, speakers, and all the audio...as well as a dvd, blueray , cable box or whatever. If you want it to look clean it's best to put all this stuff in the closet. Get a good remote that works through walls and then you don't need to see all that crap. Then run inputs to a port under the screen to plug in your video game machine.

It will take you a few weekends to get it all together nice and a couple g's money. It's worth it as it will be the best tv you've ever seen in your life when done.

Thanks Kratos. Excellent advice. I am super excited to get this project rolling but the only unfortunate part is that i have no idea what i am doing. Thanks for poitning me in the right direction. How easy is to have the the projector hook up to comcast box so you could watch television as well? Is that possible?

if you're going projector, contrast is insanely important.

high contrast will help prevent wash out in brighter lighting situations

im currently looking at the Benq w1000

i have a nice plasma 50" now, but i had a 720p projector before, and i wanna go back to one....
