    Big people, little can

    http://www.walletpop.com/blog/2010/0...re-get-less%2F

Coca Cola has come up with a great way to make more money: Give you less

Coke for more money and get you to think it's doing you a favor.

Coca Cola is branding the 7.5-ounce cans as "90-calorie portion-control mini-cans." That translates into they want you to keep drinking Coke, which you might not do if you were concerned about all 140 calories of sugar in the 12-ounce cans.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest -- the nation's food police -- shopped around for the shrunken cans and found the 8-packs selling for $3.99. That compares to 12-packs selling in the same stores for $4-$6. The per ounce price consumers are paying for the mini cans ranges from 50% more to more than double the cost for Coke in regular-sized cans.

This isn't entirely new for Coke. In 2006, the company was marketing its 100-calorie cans. The difference? Those were 8 ounces compared to the newly shrunken 7.5 ounces that weighs in at 90 calories.

I hate coke regardless so it doesn't bother me. If you don't like it then don't buy it, but that's easier said then done because the caffeine in coke has got people addicted to it, just like nicotine and cigarettes.

You always see that marketing technique all over the place. Every big company does it, they do it in such a way to create a small negative reaction, and they implement it so slowly that no one notices. Cereal boxes are around 50% their original size, so are Macdonalds burgers and chips and everything.

    haha ranging1,

word of advice? Buy PURE whey protien isolate or concentrate. I always buy it pure, in 20kg industrial bags... in the end it works out to about $10 per kilo. It is unflavored however, and if you cant stand the taste i recommend you buy some flavoring, like vanilal or chocolate. Nesquick (spelling?) works great. All our protein around the world is made by one company, NZMP, they own the patent to whey protien and it is all made in New Zeland.

Both Pepsi and Coke have small sized cans for hospitals and institutions . They have this to meet dietitian requirements .
What you see is a marketing idea to expand the production of smaller can to offset production cost .
Production plants now make multiple containers and sizes . The beverages have a expiration date and is difficult to forecast customer requirements .

I don't think you are old enough to remember the first real good protein .
Met-Rx was first introduced in 2 containers in which you had to mix .
I remember paying close to 70.00 bucks in the nineties for 20 servings .

They justified high price in saying the isolate or whatever it was had to be done very carefully . Also that it worked well .

They combat costs by shutting down warehouses, and the mini-cans are a gimmick as far as in stores are concerned. Their pricing is nowhere near where it should be, it just makes people feel better about themselves. Just like a 2-liter is 1.50 and a 20oz is 1.35.
