thinking about moving out west, anybody have any advice?

I'm seriously considering getting off the east coast and going west. I have been looking at places like Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Texas. My vocation seems to pay alot more there than here, and I could live in a house 3x nicer for what I would pay here. You would think that the cost of living would be much more but it seems like the pay/cost of living ratio is much better than where I'm at now. It also seems like the housing market has taken quite the hit in some of those places, so if I purchased a home within the next couple years out there I might have some good equity in it. Anybody ?

Depends where on the east coast you are now and where you moved. I lived Philly, NJ area and moved to Dallas, yes it is cheaper here and you get a much nicer home. But you loose alot more stuff then you gain. i would move back.

The housing market in Las Vegas really took a tumble with all the foreclosures. I would look into Phoenix it's really a nice city. Good luck!
