I have videos that i have downloaded from sharefile sites, they play on my old machine that has winxp but not on my new one with vista.. codec thing? i have win player , real, quicktime, win amp and none can play some of them, any suggestions

video lan media player will play pretty much anything you throw at it..... VLC for the win

^ Agreed. Vlc will do the job you need.
