Damn JB, so sorry to hear that.. I have a goldenlab I've had since he was 8 wks and will be 3 in July... I just couln't imagine. I know the type of bond you're talking about and my thoughts are with you my friend. This forum is the perfect place to post this bro and I hope you get through this okay. Im glad to read that there is so many dog lovers in this community of muscle bound angry men... Lol The only reason I dont have a dog at present is cause with my long work hours and gym time I cant possibly dedicate enough time and attention they deserve.

I have trained and worked with law enforcement german shepherds. My first partner was a german Shepherd who I worked along side with for 5 years... Within the first 3 weeks of having him he bit me twice... haha I was ready to give it up. But with time he became my best mate. Unconditional love is right my friend you dont find this type of loyalty in human beings... He was my protector and comforter. The day he had to be put down gutted me... Cherish the memories... With time, the pain will soften and the good memories will grow stronger.
