i hear that matrix 2 and 3 are going to be released this year,is this true?

yes, i remember watching spiderman last summer and they had preview's for Matrix 2 : Reloaded.

but......then i was watchin the super bowl of course, and they said 2 & 3 are comin out ?? 2 comes out around May, and the other in September I believe.

just hope 3 wasn't rushed....

As far as I know, they've both been in production for years.

Straight after the first Matrix it was said that they were getting ready to start filming 2 and 3 back to back. Two years later and Keanu is in the papers with a broken/sprained leg.

Bingo...they shot them simultaneously. Joel Silver, the producer, said "We have to release the third soon after the second, or there will be riots," because supposedly there is a bitch of a cliffhanger at the end of the second one.

Also, just a random FYI, they BUILT A FREEWAY for the car chase scene, because the brothers thought that there weren't any freeways already existing that had the proper "sense of urgency" about them.

Its so much cheaper to shoot them at once - can you imagine trying to make LOTR each year and reshoot?
