No headphones in the gym today..

I've been using an ipod in the gym for years and forgot it today. I've got to say, I really enjoyed my workout... I was able to focus in on the sound and the intensity of my movements and breathing and I was in a complete zone.. I never would have thought.. It kind of sucked during cardio but the actual gym was money.

I feel i can focus more without my ipod when it comes to lifting. I have a clear mind and am able to picture the muscle doing the work. sounds dumb but i have my best workouts music free it is as if i get tunnel vision to a degree. cardio on the other hand sucks ass without my ipod.

Agreed. I'm actually looking forward to doing it again tomorrow. Nice and early in the morning too, before the crowd..

After breaking several armbands, I quit bothering taking my music to the gym. I'm now forced to listen to top 40 pop selections. It's terrible.

It's hard to get amped to the sounds of "sweet dream, or a beautiful nightmareeeeee..."

Sometimes I'll just wear the headphones with no music so people don't bother me, doesn't always work.

Everything was impossible until somebody did it!

It doesnt matter how good looking she is, some where, some one is tired of her shit.

Light travels faster then sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

Great place to start researching ! http://forums.steroid.com/anabolic-s...-database.html

Dude you should say something to your gym manager about that.. there's just no excuse for love songs. There's music that plays in the cardio areas at my gym but the main weight room is clear and free of music..

there was this study that said music can block out up to 30% of pain when lifting weights compared to not listening to music.

music does and has been proven to maximise training effort, provided it is uplifting and to the individuals taste. for me its metal, and when a real thumping song comes over the earphones im ready to pound the weights! if i forget my music i spend the session thinking, 'why the fuk did i forget my tunes'?

I prefer metal when lifting, but actually prefer something a bit more mello when doing cardio. It's easier to get in a rythm to..
