You Cook's out there - Cast Iron cookware.

    Hey everyone,

I'm looking at add a cast iron skillet to my collection. I've been looking at these lodge skillets - low prices, found a few good reviews, but am open to suggestions.

lodge is a good domestic. I think the only domestic maker as of now..could be wrong. The main thing to look out for is how you season and take care of your skillet.

I went with a 12" lodge pre-seasoned. I scrubbed it down some, and gave it a couple of seasoning sessions.

I've cooked a few rounds of bacon in it so far - cleaned it off with water and just wiped it down this last time.
It's going to get a few rounds of ground bison and another seasoning round in a few days.

I've been using canola oil for the seasoning in the oven. I'll be doing 425 for two hours this next round.

So far so good, i'm enjoying it.
