There is such a tumor but it's usually only present in women and no NFL doctor was able to find any tumors. From what I've seen the only punishment is a four game suspension for testing positive in the NFL.

The NFL doesn't test for HGH. The NFL does no blood testing, its against the CBA (collective bargaining agreement), but if other evidence leads to HGH use, a suspension will follow. Former New England Patriots safety, Rodney Harrison, was suspended for HGH use after an injury comeback.
