My experience w/ Contour ab stimulator machine

Ok, we have all seen this on TV infomercials, well a Co-worker of mine bought one. I put the thing on me and tried it and at first it was very painful. I kept it on me and after a few minutes it was a little better. Not sure if the abs would get results or not, but let me tell you what... you would grow like a mother****er using it on other body parts. It stimulates your muscles like you wouldn't believe, I think it'd be excellent for breaking up lactic acid and helping muscles recover. This little ****er is so powerful it made my entire bicep contract involuntary and any muscle you put it on twitches uncontrollably as you use it. I dont see how it would not work!!! It's 20x harder and more powerful than any massage

I've heard of people using the electro stimulation to help growth but havn't seen anything reallys tating that it works.

You can buy those things online..... except they are meant for more than just abs. they have little pads with electrodes on them.....

^ Not sure if there the same as the chiro uses but going through physio therapy after 3 knee surgeries they hooked them up everytime. The lady told me it was sopsed to increase recovery time.....didn't notice any difference than the first 2 surgeries without elec stimulation in physio.

Essentially the same thing yes..... a familly member of mine has one for his back. The thing is practically pocket sized and runs on AA batteries. It comes with a bunch of stickypads/electrodes. With his.... you could connect 4 pads at the same time..... that thing was great for my back when it was all knotted up.....

might be good for recovery purposes but at the end of the day it's just a static contraction, some benefits .... sure.
although it's certainly isn't gonna put on any serious muscle.
For feeder workouts and recovery or an injury where you really have issues with limited ranges of motion is where it could be most useful.

nooomoto, there are some good shoulder exercises and stretches with jump stretch bands.
I'm sure you can find videos at elitefts. I do them before every bench and heavy squat workouts.

Yeah...I do those. But on dynamic bench and maximal effort days my shoulder still sucks.

    LMFAO funny story.....

I had knee surgery and while I was in physical therapy they would use the electro stimulators on me. They guy connected the electrodes and started cranking the power up..... he told me to tell him when to stop. I guess I have a high tolerance for it because he told me I'll be sterile by the end of my treatment LMAO

I have used the ab ones LONG time ago, pretty funny, mostly only tingle. I also have a brief case size one I bought LONG time ago and it is STRONG. I used it for a while for my back and playing.

I used it for bicep and triceps for a while. It works sort of. One time I turned it up to 6 or 7 (goes up to 10) and it locked my arms/bicep in the flexed position. Luckily it cycles on/off ever 15 seconds (felt like 2 minutes) and I BARELY turned it off before it came back on. DAMN my biceps hurt for over a week.

they stimulate mainly blood flow from the contraction of the muscle fibres rather then damage them.

thats why there used alot for injuries.
