BP is set to fork out 20 Billion dollars in damages for loss of earnings, etc.
I'd like to assume that hefty bill is going to cover the damages caused to the marine wildlife and habitats as well?

I hope so Gixxer, christ knows how much of that crap is already circulating in the ocean belts.
Something like, 50,000 barrels, A DAY is being introduced into the ocean from that spot.

yes sir, they have allocated $10 to give to each fish under 2lbs and $15 to those over. Its going towards buying the fish families some food for whats been destroyed =)
This is just a really dumb fvcken situation. When its on this scale, it should be a lifelong garnishment from BP's income. A huge fine to get the clean up and reparations started and then on ongoing one for future damages.

20 billion?
What happens when the oil washes up all along the east coast of the US.
Miami, Jacksonville and everything in between. Then North to South Carolina, North carolina, Jersey, Virginia.
Then it crosses the Atlantic to Ireland, UK, the Medeteranian(sp)
20 Billion is not going to cover the ecological and biological damage.
They are burning a shit ton of oil off the surface right now. what does that do to air quality.

I lived in Philly for a couple of years, and I went to the Shore many times. Does that make it ok?

Hey, you think it's bad now? Just wait till all the latest flood waters from the missouri and mississippi river hit the gulf with all the crap they are carrying down river, then add to that a possible bad hurricane season and we have a real recipe for an ecological disaster of unprecedented proportions.

The fvcked up thing is; if this would have happened in another country the U.S would already have the hole plugged and a relief fund set up.

Yet More Oil Damages to Sea Life In The Gulf
According to ABC News this evening, one of its reporters spotted World Famous underseas explorer Jacques Cousteau's son down at the gulf shouting out to the sea. But the sea would not call back...
Seems it "herring was impaired".Last edited by Shol'va; 06-23-2010 at 04:18 PM.
