Any HORROR movie fans
Watching Hellraiser 5 right now.. Watched the old school Day of the Dead 1985 yesterday. Trying to get Wishmaster 3 and 4, really liked the first two and own them on dvd.
Anybody know if any of the Leprechaun movies are worth checking out? Also Phantasm im pretty sure I saw the first one; the sequels any good? Any more mainstream stuff decent? /discuss

The old ones are the best (ie 60s-80s) Even earlier there are good ones too like Psycho or Homicidal

I know it's not the same as "horror" per-say, but I think this new genre of "gore" is unreal... I LOVE all the "saw" movies. they are sooo gross, but that's the only thing that creeps me out!
watching someone get their achilles tendonitis cut is sooo gross... but so awesome! lol

My wife and I are huge horror movie fans.
Event Horizon is a great one.
I think Leprechaun was one of Jennifer Anistons first movies.

Im a horror movie nut but the decent ones now adays are few and far between. The good stuff has been foreign lately. The US cant make shit for horror. High Tension was pretty good. REC and REC 2 are both excellent. Im a HUGE Friday the 13th fan also. Like Flagg said above, the first 4 are by far the best of the series.
A reccomendation for anyone, if you havent seen the movie Inside, it will whoop your fvckin ass! Any true horror fans need to go find this movie right now and check it out. Its a french film so it might be under the name A l'interieur also. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

I LOVE horror, but it's so hard to find a really good movie these days. I'm not big on sci-fi, so I don't like the sci-fi horror blends. My favorites are the movies that could actually happen, not the ones that need supernatural intervention. I liked Cabin Fever, my wife hated it. I love American Psycho, but that's not a typical horror. I'd have to give some serious thought here to remember my favs

The first Phantasm was great for a campy horror movie. It was one of those movie series that got worse down the line. The first one was the best, followed by the second, then third and so on. They just started getting complicated and even more far fetched.
One of my favorite all time movies. Nothing like murdering a bunch of people, wanting to get caught, then no one believing you did it. Christian Bale's best movie.

Does anyone here remember the movie 'Cube' ? I guess its more scifi than horror, and I too am not too into the whole scifi genre, but the original was a crazy movie.

Horror movies and such
Event Horizon was an instant classic for me. Have any of you ever went back to some of the oldies that you haven't watched in years and found them to be some of the corniest crap? Like Nightmare on Elm Street for instance. I revisited that movie recently because my 12yr old son wanted to be scared shitless, so I thought I would get him good... Instead it turned out to be a comedy for us. Then I realized that older movies that I thought were kinda tame would have breasts and booty here and there. Doh! I forgot about that.
I have recently started reading apocalyptic (with and without zombies) books of late that kinda go with the whole horror genre. One on the best sellers list is World War Z. Another one that I thought was a bit better (because of the format) was Day by Day Armegeddon. Not too long of a read, but good nontheless. Anyone kinda lazy in the reading dept might want to check out an excellent series in Podcast called "We're Alive". It's not someone reading a book back to you, its professionally scripted and read with various voice actors. Check it out by doing a simple google search. Peace out.

Glad to see so many Event Horizon fans. Used to be people would ask me whats the scariest movie I would always say Event Horizon. Honestly The Ring scared me more now though. Not as good of a movie but scary as f the first time you watch it. Anyone who says otherwise had the lights on and was talking during the movie.
Just watched Reanimator, enjoyed it. Going to watch the sequels soon.
