Confused Thoughts on Steroids - Media

Hi sorry I know people must post shit like this all the time but my whole life I have been told drugs are bad. Smoking is bad. STEROIDS are bad.

From school and in the media etc etc the documentry "Man who's arms exploded" I want to run a cycle for the first time but im kinda concerned and I don't know who to listen too.

    - On one hand I see in that movie that guys like Valentino and Steve Mehilic(?) must have drasticly abused the drugs and didn't make smart choices. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0dmXRAKieQ&NR=1

    - On the other hand the way that guy explained how just one cycle grows over many years into a tumor etc etc scares the shit outta me.

Then I watched the movie "Bigger Stronger Faster" and my thoughts change again.

    - People say that they can be used safely in moderation (which sounds good to me)

So how bad is it really to do a cycle or 2 every year or something? I feel like it's bad and im gonna drop or something haha and I also feel like im only enhancing my body and creating motivation to work out that I wouldn't have otherwise.

The really stupid part about all this is that I don't hesitate to slam a bottle of vodka and do some lines. Why is that?

Just looking for some general input guys like I said I know you probobly see this shit all the time but bottom line is im confused and uneducated.

I think AAS are pretty safe when used properly and cautiously by an educated user.

How old are you? How long have you been training?

If you're into rec drugs and "slamming a bottle of vodka", I'd say you need to take care of that first, before you start thinking about steroids.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a social drink on occasion, but my personal fitness goals prevent me from ever slamming a bottle of vodka...see my point?

Yeah I have heard that it's not good to drink while on anythign anyways so i would put a stop to that.

Im not really an excesive drinker or drug addict or anything I just wanted to point out that im not afraid to experiment with drugs like [insert what have you] etc but I am with something that will enhance my body?

Just a weird double standard and I don't know why I feel this way. Im 21 and have been training off and on for about 6 years.

Bud, steroids, booze etc aren't "bad". Everybody's morals are individualistic to them. No one has the right to point the finger at somebody else. People have a tendency to associate "bad" with "illegal". IMO, two very different things. I mean, "edit" is illegal and that's got to be one of the STUPIDEST laws going. Honestly, have you ever witnessed anyone that you know commit any sort of say, violent or physically harmful act solely as a result of being "edit"??I don't even smoke "edit" and I feel this way. Bottom line is your morals are your morals, and no one has the right to judge you. However, steroids are "dangerous" in ways if one were to use them eneducatedly, so MAKE SURE you study this forum thoroughly and ask lots of questions and most importantly LISTEN to what the senior members/vets tell you. Whether or not you are even old enough or advanced enough in your training is another topic entirely.
    Hope this helped

Ok, well first edit out those drug names. Rec drugs aren't allowed to be discussed on this board. But I get your point.

At your age, you shouldn't even be considering AAS. You can do a lot more harm than good at this stage.

You should take full advantage of this board, and learn as much as you can over the next few years about AAS use, diet, training, etc.

Hey D7M, sorry to hijack, but I didn't see you chime in on another thread I've been watching closely concerning AAS and the need for TRT. From what you said here
"I think AAS are pretty safe when used properly and cautiously by an educated user"

Are you of the opinion that one can use intelligently enough to not damage their HPTA/body to the point of requiring TRT in their 30's or 40's??

I haven't seen that thread, I'm not on as much during the summer months.

But, even educated use still has consequences. I'm 32, and I'm about to go on TRT, simply because my test levels consistently come back lower and lower after every cycle.

If you keep cycling, that's bound to happen, imo.

Oh, and edit that rec drug talk in your post above please

What harm may that be if I were to do a cycle or two?

If I were to stay away what else do I do? Just keep eating good and working hard? Creatine is getting old lol. What is a good age to consider doing AAS? I know alot of my freinds did them at 18/19/20 then again we are all still ypoung so I don't know what harm it did to them.

Do you feel your test comes back lower and lower after every cycle because of either not enough time off between cycles or poor PCT???
Or just the fact that you cycled period?

Read this, especially the paragraph on age:

I personally think even with an excellent pct and sufficient time off between cycles, the stress of shutting down and restarting your HPTA will eventually lead to TRT in many people....it has for me at least.
