"acrobatic weightlifters" lol...
anybody else get a kick out of these "acrobatic weightlifters" in the gym? you know...the guys that do 50 light-weight bicep curls at rapid speed while balancing on a half-ball. these pricks are hilarious. the funniest part about it is, they're almost never in good shape lol.

I don't know. I've known guys that think working out is curling and benching and that's it. They don't usually last very long... weeks, mabye a couple of months, then they are done... move on to the next thing that catches their fancy

Ive seen all kinds of dumb shit in the gym. I just tune it out lately and stare at the girl doing whatever exercise it is that requires her to spread her legs. I thought the only one was the hip machine. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when a girl was lying on her side on a mat lifting one leg up as high as she could. Another girl was doing squats on the smith machine. Also very hot.

I think I may know who you are talking about... the guys who lean back further and further while doing dumbell bicep curls with 20lb'rs, swinging their arms to get the most shoulder workout as possible from their 30'th rep...

Different people have different fitness goals.. I've seen some hard core endurance trainers do some sh*t I would never do but they're in increadible shape for what they're training for. Power-lifters, body-builders, endurance athletes, swimmers.. all have different lifting techniques...

Not everyone has the same fitness goals. An exercise like this builds core strength and balance, you would need a higher rep count to get a better workout for strength and balance. Doing 8-12 reps like this would be almost pointless. You can make any exercise harder by doing it on one leg, and building these stabilization muscles will help prevent injury too. Maybe this guys isn't trying to build the "perfect body" maybe he is just trying to have a decent state of physical fitness to avoid injury and remain healthy during his life. If he was saying that he's trying to build mass this way, then ridicule away; however, you should probably just worry about your own workout. And they're called Bosu Balls.
