Пожалуйста, еще водки
What is the best vodka for the price?
I don't know a whole lot about which vodkas you are just buying the name, which ones are best quality, etc.
I am looking to buy some vodka for the weekend, and I don't want to go out and buy the cheapest thing I can find (for multiple reasons, most of which are obvious) but I don't want to just throw money at it in hopes that going broke means i end up with a good quality.
With all the drinking experience from all around the world we have on this forum, I figured I could get some good insight.
Thanks in advance!

I always drink my alcohol straight.
And I know enough to know all vodka is not the same. For example, Dark eyes vs Absolut.

its hard to give a solid answer also. The same brand vodka will have distilleries in different parts of the world. They use the same recipe but ingredients found local to that distillery. That makes a big difference.

Yeah, i used to brew my own wine and beer, and I could do an identicle process with identicle ingredients, but if I changed the water I was using, it would change the taste of what i was brewing.
So i know it won't be exactly the same everywhere. Just looking for a good launch point.

If I'm drinking it straight then I drink 3 olives cherry. Otherwise kettle one or goose.

If you can get imported polish vodka etc they are all good I have to say from drinking it. Try it with some water and lime juice and ice it will be epic.

I see Grey Goose alot. Is this because of the taste? Does it go down easy? Less hangovers? Just curious.

During my Bar Tending Days we served a lot of Absolute and Stoli not to mention the house brand that you definately want to stay away from.

Absolut vodka is the absolute best....at marketing. They spend so much money on ads with colorful pictures, attactive people having a great time, but the quality isn't up to par. Grey Goose is nice but there is something slightly off with the after taste IMO. Belvedere is very nice but the very best vodka IMO is Ultimat. It's Russian and very smooth. If you can find in at the liquor store near you give it a shot. Let me know if you like it. Cheers!

When you said the Ultimat was Russian, and smooth, I got interested. Just checked it out, its like 50 bucks for 750ml. I don't think i want to spend 50 bucks just to give it a try. I would like to give it a try though.

Very true Dan. I can only drink it cold, when I do drink it, which is rarely. Warm vodka will make me vomit the first shot.... I don't even want to think about it.

Go buy a handle of Aristocrat
About $12 for a handle and a guaranteed hangover.
I have heard though if you run cheap vodka through a brita filter a few times it may taste better. Worth a try if you are cheap.
I like belvedere and goose.
Never been a huge fan of Stoli

another vote for smirnoff....and i think it's better tasting in bloody marys (how i drink vodka nowadays) than goose or stoli or abs....if i had to shoot vodka (which i don't), it would be goose, stoli, or abs

Not sure if they have it in Indiana, but Shakers is damn good for drinking it straight up. Very smooth, goes down like water, doesn't taste like rubbing alcohol.

Tito's Handmade Vodka
It's less than Grey Goose, and the same quality, if not better. I've recommended it to a lot of people and none of them had anything bad to say about it.

I can't really read it either. I already speak German (well, don't test me, its been about 4 years since I held a conversation in german, so I am no doubt rusty), but I absolutely LOVE everything Russian. So i am now trying to learn Russian. I can now recognize certain words, and am getting better with pronunciation, but I don't quite have the alphabet figured out, lol
