I think seeking help is a solid tip. you have acknowledged that you have a problem, which is often the hardest part.

I've never been a gambler, but I have battled addiction. For me the only way I was able to defeat it was to identify the things in my life that were worth more to me than the addiction in question, and give it up for them.

yeah that makes it tough, when I was single I lived on the edge more often than not. it's really a wonder I'm still here. well if nothing else talking about it may help a bit, that's what we're here for.

personally i think gambling addictions are worse than drug addictions.. especially stateside where you have to gamble with local bookies who are usually tied to organized crime one way or another.. I used to gamble alot in the States.. i stopped when i lost 12 grand in one weekend on the NFL.. i wish i had some advice.. but all i can say is maybe try and limit how much you gamble.. i.e. put away $500 a month as a gambling fund.. if u lose it then you are done for the month.. if you double it then take your winnings.. i lived in vegas for a few months and i did that with Craps.. then i won 40 grand in one night and moved to Ireland

Set limits, only wager what you can afford to lose.. if you find yourself slipping after that, then you need to seek more professional help via Gambling addiction groups and websites...

Hate to say it bro but you should leave your job and find a new one. It's like a drug addict selling drugs, if it's infront of you you're gonna be tempted and make bad decisions. why not avoid the temptation and make it that much easier on yourself.

    just my .02

Just don't give up on trying to get help. I go to meetings for my addiction. The people who give up end up killing themselves because they feel like they can't beat whatever when the right answer is to never stop giving up. Doesn't matter if it takes you a thousand tries to whip it, keep coming at it and focusing on fixing the problem.
