10 Year Old Girl - Most Incredible Performance Ever.
To be 10 years old and to have THAT sort of voice. Literally one in a billion.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKhmFSV-XB0
I don't even like opera.... but I thought it was breath-taking.
How can a 10 year old possess that lung capacity and vocal range? it astounds me.
I got goose-bumps listening to her. it sounds almost creepy... but honestly, just shocking. I can't imagine how talented she will be once she develops, and continues to master her skill.

The fact that she was born on April 9, 2000 is just unfathomable.
Who knows the notes she will be able to hit and hold once her voice fully matures
This is just not a talent that would seem possible, even plausible, at such a young age IMO.
Amazing.
The 10 year old is going to be performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City this December for a Christmas Concert - she is the youngest performer to ever be booked into that venue! woww.

Puberty could easily change her voice. I don't think it will change it enough for her not to sing tho. May just have a different tone.

true....i think theres two things you either are born with or not...and if you are, you never lose them : rythym and tone

OK I watched a few of her other videos. Some really sucked or at least nothing special. She does great in opera.
Check this one.

NOW watch this one. Clarice is one of my favorites. I have been watching her for a few years now. Maybe it's because she is from the Philippines but this girl has talent.

One more. The microphone is almost bigger than this little girl.

nothing special? Your either not an opera fan or don't know enough about it to judge her talent.
Look at another performance from the one you put up..

haha... well I think that the majority of singers only stick to their speciality (their genre.)
the part that's hard to come to terms with is just knowing that an adolescent actually mastered Opera; when in essence, today's best and most talented opera singers are more then 20 years her senior.
Regarding the puberty - I do agree. I was wondering though, what effect does puberty have on developing girls voices? It's not like their voice cracks; however, perhaps it gets a bit lower.
I just wonder if she has that much control and is able to manipulate her vocal range that well now, what will she be able to accomplish by the time she's graduated middle-school.

^^ This is the absolute perfect version of the song.
IMO the only difference I hear between the two versions is that Puccini is able to hold her high-notes for much longer then Jackie.
Perhaps a little more control for Puccini as well. But otherwise, I think Jackie has her matched.

^^ Compare for yourself though guys.

I've got a question for you bro, since you seem to obviously know your opera. What do you think puberty could potentially do to an adolescent-females voice?
We all know about the effect puberty has on boys; however, that is because testosterone level fluxes cause our voice to break and drop lower. That said, with the abundance of estrogen in adolescent girls going through puberty one would think their voice wouldn't change THAT much, or perhaps even get a bit higher/lighter???
I am aware that female adolescents also get a spike of testosterone during puberty as well, and that could definitely cause undesirable results. But yah, just wondering if you've basically heard of any successful opera singers who started to perform at such a tender age??
Also - I wonder what will happen to her voice. I read that her parents bought her a specific child-vocal coach to help train her, while protecting her vocal cords from damage.... but one wonders, would singing opera, which requires such a range of pitch and tone, really cause her damage in the future?
haha... sorry for all the questions

Won't cause damage but there is no telling how puberty will affect her. Most male opera singers don't get their true voice till after...but with girls there is no telling. She definately knows pitch control so she'll definately be able to sing...but will she be a world class opera singer.

Oh really? Yeah, the reason I asked was because I saw this comment below one of the videos of her.....
"As someone who teaches voice on a collegiate level, I can honestly say that she will ruin her voice! She's 10, and if you listen to her speaking voice, it's clearly a manufactured singing voice. Her voice won't fully develop to be singing this rigorous aria until she's about 16. This child should be singing something lighter for her voice and not Puccini! ATROCIOUS!"
Who really knows if this person is an actual authority on singing though.
Just thought her argument did make some sense. I just didn't get the "manufactured singing voice" part.... I kind of assume that most singers/all singers basically have a completely different casual voice vs. performing voice?
