anyone used to have an anime obsession like dragon ball z?

Anyone here used to have an obsession with an anime show like DBZ? i used to be completely obsessed with it, i mean like if i was watching a new episode i'd have laser vision on it, and if my parents came in and interrupted me i'd get extremely pissed and when they'd stop making new episodes for a while, i'd get hysterical and throw a huge ass temper tantrum (i was about 9 years old and had a huge problem with developing extremely intense interests). Personally i was never interested in the pokemon/digimon thing, but Dragon ball z was the shit and i mean the ****ing shit to me from about 9-12.

I'm 39...and back in the 70's, when we used candles to light our home, I would use my sun dial to see what time it was. If the time was right, my dinosaur would run in place and power my TV which had adjustable antennas, on which I would watch Science Team Gatchaman (Battle Of the Planets), the precursor to your new fangled 21st century anime.

also liked akira, ronin warriors, et al. in the 90's there was reboot, beast wars, and beast machines.

Yo, where I grew up, this was called G-Force. I was a huge fan. I was also a huge Voltron and Robotech fan!

With that said, my sons turned me on to DBZ. I'm a fan, but saying Goku is the ultimate superhero, that's just insane. I guess I'm old and the Hulk, Luke Cage (powerman), and the Silver Surfer are my faves.

    BTW, I'm 37.

In all fairness, i am not a fan of cartoons, superhero stuff, etc.
I was born into a Gehovas Witness family, so as a kid I never had birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, etc. I was also told that you call the "parts" a penis or vagina, and nothing else. My dad raised me with very little room to actually be a "kid" or enjoy "childish things". So I always saw power rangers, superman, spiderman, anime, etc. and couldn't stand it, I thought it was cheezy and stupid.

So i don't have any good memories to reflect on in that department.

Oh but my dad did raise me on a very hefty diet of Stallone and Schwarzenegger. So I always admired bad ass guys that had muscle and didn't take shit.
Guess I have to thank him for that one.

I measure around my shoulders (similar to how you measure around the waist, etc) and totally cold, unpumped they measure 56". Across from widest part of delt to other delt, they are somewhere between 25 and 26. Its hard for me to get an exact measurement, I don't really know how to measure across very well.

Years back I used to love Marvel comics, Wolverine, X Men, Fantastic Four, Avengers, Silver Surfer, etc.... but my favourite were british comics like Judge Dredd, ABC Warriors, Slaine, Nemesis the Warlock and so on.

I don't know if I grew out of them, or my opinions changed. I'll occasionally get stuff done by Garth Ennis like The Punisher or The Boys but it's more geared to an "adult audience".

As for anime, never really been a big one, though I do recommend Vampire Hunter: D and the sequel, "Bloodlust" for those that are fans of the genre.

This is probably the best anime ever made in my opinion not counting the really mainstream stuff like transformers. If you can download it do it.

Oh the G.I. Joe parody's... I would have posted a link but I'm afraid the re-post police would barrage me with useless repost photos.

There was a show in the mid 80s called StarBlazers or something like that. It was a spaceship that looked like a battleship with a huge gun in the hull... I loved that cartoon.

I never got into any of those shows. I actually only clicked on this thread because I thought it would be filled with half naked cartoon characters.
