Dont do Steroids... You'll be a naughty boy!

Eur Addict Res. 2010 Aug 26;16(4):213-219. [Epub ahead of print]

Is There an Association between the Use of Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids and Criminality?

    Skårberg K, Nyberg F, Engström I.

School of Health and Medical Sciences, Psychiatric Research Centre, Orebro University, Orebro, Sweden.

    Abstract
Aims: The aim of this study was to improve our understanding of the proposed association between anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) and criminality. Methods: The study was based on interviews and criminality data involving 32 users of AAS who had sought treatment for AAS-related problems at a psychiatric addiction clinic in Sweden. A score derived from the number of crimes, their level of severity and the relevant time periods was computed to allow comparisons between subgroups sorted according to type and timing of drug use. Results: The criminal activity level increased for 69% of the individuals after having started to use drugs. This was particularly obvious in the group who had started its involvement with drugs by using AAS. Crimes of violence and weapon offences showed a great increase in incidence after drug use had been initiated. The study also showed a significant decrease in criminality after treatment, particularly among individuals who had started their drug use with AAS. Conclusion: The results suggest that there is an association between the use of AAS and criminality, especially with regard to crimes of violence and weapon offences, and that this criminality may be enhanced when AAS are combined with other drugs of abuse.

PMID: 20798542 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

So if you use AAS, your chances of being a criminal are higher... Especially violence and weapon offences...

    Tut tut....

    What a load of shit.

The point I'm trying to make is that some studies are pretty pointless and are full of garbage.

    Bull.

Most serious and even semi-serious AAS users have jobs, careers, families, and usually at least some disposable income to spend on food, supplements, and AAS.

So, doing something that's illegal in most countries increases the "tendency" of someone to act criminally? Got it.

How about they get the Fluck off their high horse, and either quit injecting all our food with GH, or just make it flucking legal. Hypocrites.

Don't believe that at all! All the juicers i know have careers and families and care too much for that part of their life to put their freedom in jeopardy as mentioned above. Hell, i know cops, paramedics, doctors and construction workers that are juiced up and have been for the last 10+ years. No crimes to speak of.....

I'm going to say: Absolutely there is a link between steroid use and Criminality.

They are illegal to posses without a Rx so just the act of doing them makes you a criminal in the all wise minds of the US gov. 100% of AAS users in the US are criminals. Pretty simple correlation, can't believe you guys didn't pick up on that.

To further play devils adv... They did a study and found a direct correlation between testosterone levels in females and violent crime. Females in prison that had higher Test levels also had higher levels of incidences

The study is actually set in Sweden, not the USA.

But lucky for you its illigal to posses, use, manufacturer AAS in Sweden.

Otherwise I'd be getting my "owned" smiley out.
