going pro?
hey guys
just wondering how the pros do what they do? how do they have the time? i know it takes a lot of work, time, money, and dedication. do they work side jobs so they can make some $$? i mean i could not imagine working a full time job and trying to train as a pro at the same time. it just doesn't seem possible. you don't just immediately start making money from pro bb, you have to win competitions, right? what's the deal with these pro's? thanks

I've heard/read many horror stories about how pros get $ to support their training. Some deal drugs (gear, crack, E, coke...whatever has the best profit margin and demmand) and some prostitute themselves to varying degrees....to both male and female John's. I know of one pro who stars in Gay porn and he's married....to a woman.

I read about that too PETE. I'm reading Arnold's book on how he became what he is today...and he was approcahed by a man who wanted him sexually. He told Arnold he would send him to America (This was when he still lived in Austria) and that he would be famous. Arnold said he seriously condisered it, but then decided it could not happen. Sick shit people do.

damn!! thats crazy. do all do things like this just to make ends meet? that is just too much to go through for me. i feel bad for the pros now. it sounds like their lives really suck until they can win a big competition. now i can see why the bb keep getting bigger and bigger as the years go on. the competitions are not just for the sake of winning and a trophy, they are necessary means for a bb's survival. (survival of the fittest)?? if they don't beat out their opponents, they have to endure hell for as long as it takes them to actually win. sounds stressful to me!! anyway, thanks for your responses. the stories are very interesting but unfortunate.

Guest Posing , Sponserships pay quite alot of money these days and remember pros are all undercontracts Weider etc.
Kevin Levrone has many sponderships Weider , Nike ive seen him in a MRM add (Creactive the guy doing tricep one arm ext)
Also im sure they do some Drugdeals , and maybe some sexual acts on the side , but i think thats more for placings at contests rather than for gear .... Ive heard of Pros exchanging personal training for Gear so theres always way.

Like Pete, I'm not homophobic, but I think I would have a problem if Burton/Fox had been my kid's gym teacher in junior high school. That's gettin' a little close to home.
