Supply and demand. Caucasion babies = low supply and high demand. Interracial babies are the most contraversial (black baby, white parents for example)
Good luck mate. I hope you and your partner succeed. Key word here is stability and I feel every child deserves that in their life. I'm sure you guys will do well as parents. You guys even attempting this means you are more squared away than you try to portray here in this environment.

I recently talked to a couple of mine who adopted a child. I was very curious about the process since i hope to adopt with my partner when we are stable with a new home. I was kind of disappointed after she explained everything. To make a long story short, it took them 3 years and cost them 25K ! They adopted an Asian baby. With both parents being white i was curious and asked why they adopted an Asian baby. They said they couldn't afford a Caucasian baby. WTF is that ! I have nothing against adopting an Asian baby but i don't know a lot about the culture and i would be more comfortable adopting a Caucasian baby. This got me thinking, why is it so hard to adopt ? There is little on the numbers of children in foster care. The most recent article i found was from 2008:

It seems to me with the amount of children in foster care which i am sure there are a lot more now than in 2008 the process would be a little easier. I totally understand wanting to be 100% sure a couple is fit to adopt but where the @#$# does the 25K go ?
I brought this up before and some members have reached out. I just needed to rant a little i guess.

Adopt an eastern european child, like from Yugoslavia, Russia, Czechoslovakia. As far as where the money goes, it goes into government bureacracy. Just another way to tax the crap out of us and they know we want children bad enough we will pay it. Dirty Bastards......

It is rediculous what the states charge for adoption. We have a couple here at work that got sick of what was going on in New Hampshire and they adopted from Eastern Europe instead.
