Who has Sleep Apnea...?
Im pretty sure ive developed it. Never was an issue when I was younger. Im still young but now Im 230lbs so i guess thats not helping at this point. I cant sleep through the night to save my life. Hell, waking up 5 times would be a BENEFIT!!! I probably wake up no less than 7 times a night. No clue why and thats what Im guessing. Who sleeps with a CPAP machine and how weird, sh!tty feeling was it at first? I gotta do something. Not even Rx meds can keep me alseep past 3/4am.

I've never had trouble sleeping. Actually if I had a problem at all it was sleeping too much. Lately I've been waking up at 6am wide awake. Even if I dint go to bed til 1am. I hope it doesn't get any earlier than that.

I think that most people have sleep apnea and dont ever know it. I believe I do also but dont think my insurance will pay for the testing. I'll have to check it out. But does anyone know what is the cure? Do you have to wear some stupid mask at night when you sleep?

I haven't been tested for it, but the wife says I will stop breathing, then kinda jump and start breathing again. Pretty sure that is what it is. It only started when I got over 200lbs. I know a couple guys that sleep with the CPAP machine and mask. They said it took awhile to get used to, but they have never slept so well. They wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. Me, I wake up feeling like I haven't slept at all, regardless of what time I go to bed.

I know a lot of guys start to suffer over 210lbs it too hard on your body to carry weight but Ambien is still crushing it for me. I sleep solid on that crap. Im sure its not good for you but the sleep is so awesome.

Pretty blue pills help me. But I have heard of men as they grow having more troubles with sleeping. I assume from the extra weight around organs.

If i didn't set an alarm i would sleep for 12-14 hrs easy.

I hear ya. My issue is that the muscles overlapping nerves are tense from training and don't release causing pinching and my arms falling asleep!

an inability to stay asleep is usually a result of insomnia not apnea as far as i am aware.

^^^LOL
Fortunately for me....I'm single....and I don't snore. Or...at least i don't think i do (no one around to tell me otherwise)! Insomnia kicked for me when I first started competing. And, to this day is still an issue. Some nights I sleep heavy...most not so much.

if you have problems sleeping may i recomend GHB or GBL.. they do wonders, and are legal in most countries.. not the U.S. unfortunatley if you live there. My best friend and roomate back in college had sleep acnea.. he was 220lbs and about 5'4".. solid as a brick but had the worse sleep acnea i have ever seen.. he got tested and they said he stopped breathing for two and a half minutes at times... So perhaps something like GHB might not be a good idea considering you might not wake up if you atop breathing and then you would just die.. so talk to your doctor about that.. Anyways, he got one of those machines and he said it was weird at first but eventually (a week or two) he wouldn't sleep with out it.. It also stopped him from snoring as loud, since that is often a side effect of sleep acnea.. It is 100% because of your weight, sleep acnea does not happen to skinny people (as far as i know)

I go through this a few days a month. It's AGONIZING!!! I usually wake up a few times a night normally, but don't have a problem falling right back asleep. These few nights in a row though... man it's misery. I fall asleep initially within MINUTES (i'm tired as hell after my long day) but a couple hours later, i'm WIDE awake, staring at the ceiling. I'm so awake, I could run a marathon. I don't mean that I have the physical energy to do so... but my mental state is SO awake, it's insane.
I think it has alot to do with stress, anxiety, just problems on the mind. At least for me I believe that's what it is. However, it is strange that it seems to happen in a pattern of a few days a month, and nothing that I can tell triggers it.

You need to go in for sleep study. I did one a few years back and found out I had mild sleep apnea. I lost some weight (fat) and that took care of it. I'm glad it did because I would have had a terrible time adjusting to the cpap machine. I hated it, but I have talked to some people that don't seem to mind it. My symptoms were exactly like you described. I ended up taking trazedone, which is a anti-depressant that is also used for sleep problems. It has worked wonders for me, I don't wake up, it doesn't make you all groggy the next day. You need to find out if you have apnea, if so untreated it can cause all sorts of problems.
