Bragging. much better than vettewrecks bragging threads.

I havnt dead lifted since I competed in pl when I was 15-16. Decided last week that im going to compete again. I pulled 455 with straps (no chalk so I had to use them). Thought that was pretty good considering my pr was 485. Today headed to the gym feeling good and pulled 500. Not that incredible, but on my second week dling after a 3 year break Im pretty stoked about it. My goal is at least 600 by april. Wabdl record for my age and weight is 644.

That is good weight man, have you been keeping up on squats during the deadlift off time? That would explain it....

    Whats your weight?

Thanks, I've been doing squats but with lighter weights in the 20 rep range. I haven't trained for pling since I last competed in high school. I weigh 197 with clothes on.

What kind of belt do you use? You should try an inzer power belt. Worth every penny.

Honestly, i don't believe in wearing belts. I am lifting this weight to work my back so it shouldn't need support. If its too heavy i drop the weight and move on.

I agree with this too a certain extent. I hate to see people slap their belt on when they're benching lol, but when pushing your body to the absolute limit for 1 rep I think a belt is a smart idea.

I have one in case i ever plan to use it but haven't use it in years. If you ask me i should never need it. I think bench/squat shirts/suits are a joke (im not a powerlifter). When i see people using them i close the video. The only thing i use is chalk and straps if my grip starts to give out on reps.

It all depends on what your training for and what your goals are. My belt only comes out for my heaviest squat/dl sets. Ive never been a fan of equipped lifting either. I like knowing my lifts are all me. I bought a bench shirt to try a while back. I could bench about 285 at the time and it took 350 just to get the bar to my chest with the shirt on. Not to mention the battle wounds afterwards. I decided to stick with unequipped after that.

Women are just WAY too jealous of eachother. Get a room full of dudes together, and 9 times out of 10 they'll wind up getting along. Almost never the case with women... too competitive, but on such a personal level. Just my experience.
