You honestly think you could go out there and do a better job? And I highly doubt you would be smashing the face of any player on our team. You're nothing but a fair weather fan. I can tell simply by the "aints" reference. The reigning world champions are far from the "aints." I'm sure you are the guy who went out last year and bought a bunch of who dat gear and acted like you had been a fan for life. Teams lose, this is the way the game is played. And a true fan knows that from time to time things dont go how you would like. It's the NFL, it's anybodys game on any day.
For the record, this isn't a flame. If you are from around here, then you should know that it is much more than a football team. It's a way of life. It is hope, belief, and FAITH. This team does more than just play football. You will not find better character on any other team in the league than on the Saints. Every player on that team is a well spoken, community engaged gentleman who truly wants to be a part of the team and more inportantly, part of a city that needs the Saints. Hate or love it, you have to respect the team, staff and organization as a whole. Drew Brees, or breesus as we like to call him, single handedly saved the city of new orleans. We are the team that gives players a chance when nobody else would and look at what we have produced. If not for any other reason than the off the field intangibles of the New Orleans Saints, at least show a little respect for that.
Seattle was the better team yesterday, they outplayed us on every aspect of the ball. Are they the better team? Absolutely not. The defense did not show up yesterday. The secondary was abused. Roman harper got his ass handed to him and gave up three TD's. There was absolutely ZERO pass defense. The Saints that played yesterday, was not the team that beat the Seahawks 34-19 in week 13. The Seahawks wanted it more, I mean why not? They had nothing to lose. An 11 win team has to go on the road to play a team with a losing record in one of the loudest outdoor stadium with a chance to upset the super bowl champs who were supposed to win with ease, of course they were fired up and they played like it.
Also let's not forget what was probably the biggest advantage the Seahawks had yesterday. The Saints were beat up bad. Something we have struggled with all season long but still managed to have an 11 win season. Danny Clark, Jimmy Graham, Anthony Hargrove, Malcolm Jenkins, Joi'qui Bell, Chris Ivory, Pierre Thomas all ruled out prior to yesterdays game. Marques Colston had knee surgery last Wednesday, he was not 100%. Then Reggie Bush leaves the game with a leg injury, then Julius Jones leaves the game with a concussion. DeShawn Wynn was our running back in the second half, this guy was signed early this week. So obviously theres no run game, forcing Brees to throw the ball 60 times. Not too mention some questionable play calling and decisions by the coaching staff.
So please, either sack up and be a fan and stand by your team or simply keep your mouth shut. I can truly understand your frustration, trust me I was livid following yesterdays performance but stating that you wish the entire team dies in a plane crash is disrespectful and completely unwarranted considering what this team has done for their city and the caliber of gentelman on this team. Sometimes teams lose, this is the way it works, true champions can admit they played a poor game, congratulate the other team and look forward to coming back improved and healthy next season.
For the record, my family has been a Saints season ticket holder since 1967, I have seen it all. I remember the paper bags, the "aints", when nobody cared about the saints, the Aaron brooks years, when we couldn't sell tickets. So for the Saints to have an 11 win season plagued with injuries it is still considered a great season in my, and many others books. Sure I would have like to gone out on a different note but sometimes shit just happens.
So please decide if you are a Saints fan or not. If you are, great, we would love to have you, but please don't just jump ship because we don't have a repeat Superbowl victory. If you are not then thats fine too, just keep your negativity to yourself, throw all of your saints gear away, don't call them your "home town team" and never utter the words "Who Dat"
Sorry for the long post, and again this isn't intended as a flame, just disappointing to see a new orleans native talk so ill of the organization that has, as you well know, truly become the heart of this city.
