He was probably best known for trying to claim that his avi of the Rev Jim Jones of the Peoples Temple, from Jones Town, Guyana, was actually a pic of himself. No worries that Rev Jim Jones murdered 200 children by forcing them to take cyanide, or was responsible for the deaths of over 900 people all together resulting in the single largest tragedy in US history at the time (pre 9/11).

So, a moment of silence please!

ah, that thread. i noticed the rev right off the bat and wondered why anyone would want to use him as their avy but it's no dif than people using say, che guevara...just makes me think they're a little ignorant on who the person was (that, or they are just trying to be controversial)

that would be up to admin. not too many that get suspended return and stay. there are a few, but most come back and really don't change. i think it is just one last ditch effort by admin to try save a member.

I think it had more to do with the Joe Pa issue.

Why was Xel banned, he was my friend and knew a lot about a lot. He helped me put a great cycle together and knew what he was talking about.
Who took the avatar down so why is he banned? He never did anything to hurt anyone and was a good guy and helped me out a lot and a lot of other people.
I don't see anything in the rules on being banned\ suspended for a stupid avatar. Besides he took it down

Things got hot, but he had his opinions and so did everyone else. Its sad to see people get thrown outa here for it.
The Jerry Sandusky and JP is a sensitive issue. Its up to the mods how they want to handle this stuff.
I'm sure it hit close to home because Xel worked with kids and really enjoyed it, so for him I can see why he is so mad.
Not everyone knew that or knew him like I did but that's why it made him so mad.
Why are we kicking people out over other this?
Why are people sticking up for JP around here when they don't eve know him, we should be sticking up for our own members.
Xel has given a lot to the community and helped lots of people.

He called a monitor a douch or said he had douchey tendencies and told him his promotion wasn't warranted. (paraphrased) You can't do that to a monitor or anyone else for that matter! Besides...as of now he's not banned...he's suspended. They'll probably let him come back.

I know if a monitor or well respected member and I had a disagreement I would swallow my pride and let it go before I flammed them. That's what Xel should've done. Same thing happened to DEC11 and it got him banned (Most people really liked him). Nobody is above the rules!

I think dec11 is gone for good. Xel just says suspend. I talked to Admin and he agreed with me that Xel has helped a lot of people and will be back in a week or two.

Its usually never one thread or post that gets someone banned or suspended. Most of the time its an accumulation of things and IMO admin goes above and beyond with being fair when it comes to either.
I wouldnt be so quick to look at one isolated incident and pin that as the sole reason for a ban or suspension. Its not prudent to judge any situation in ignorance of many potential issues and/or infractions you (or me or anyone) may be unaware of. As I said in my experience over the last several years admin is more than fair.

Agreed that there needs to be a minimum amount of etiquette and politeness here. The powers that be have the bar set pretty low to allow everyone to be themselves.

I frequent several forums (non-bodybuilding, mostly car) that have the bar set very high and it can actually be a bit boring because everyone is so polite. So, this place is more fun, but there MUST be an enforced standard. We can disagree, but we must be civil as this is a community.

Also, calling someone a "f*cking idiot" never helps an argument. Ever, ever, ever. Here is what I learned a long time ago. As soon as ONE person starts yelling, EVERYONE stops listening.

Sorry for my late response. I just became aware of this. I never claimed that the avitar was anyone other than Jim Jones. I never made a post or a PM claiming otherwise. No one will be able to produce one.

I dont take issue with anything else that was said about me. I just don't want anyone to think I would be dense enough to make such a defense.

Oh snap is he gone now? I had a feeling or maybe it was just gas. I think he felt isolated and was barking back at everyone not knowing who was an ally or against him. but he also wanted to close his account so I guess he got what he wanted in the end. I kind of thought maybe he would just back off for a few days and just read what the forum had to offer before throwing in the towel. Some say his actions smelled of trolling. Could be, but he did ask to close out his account. Hate to lose anyone on here but once some people get wound up it's hard to mellow them back out before they go all postal and post crap that will get them banned. Although some of us here did try.
