I would love for somebody to try and prosecute me for something that I was intending to do.

Haha store policy I didn't make it I just enforced it, If the person was under 18 which they were bout 75% of the time I'd just intimidate them and call their parents. If they were older then I'd prosecute its a policy and is back up by law depending on the state you live in

Okay.. just to clarify. if i see someone drop some money i pick it up and return it to them.. i actually did this to a lady about three weeks ago and she almost hit me with her purse when i tapped her on the shoulder.. I will not steal from a store or anyone else for that matter.. I will and have several times before robbed drug dealers and taken their stashes and then sold them.. but i think since they are outside the law, that doesn't really count as stealing, nor is it morally wrong

How did this turn into such a long thread? I didn't start it to talk about the rights and wrongs of stealing. It was just a story I wanted to share I thought was entertaining but a few AR buzzkills had to feel important and ruin things

Yep! Gotta agree with Roman again. "Stealing from thieves" doesn't solve any moral dilemma- it's just a form of weak justification.
There are enough resources in our country for most people, most of the time, to get food. It's usually the careless that shop lift and drive up prices for the hones, paying customers.
I also agree that Wal-mart is also immoral with their business practices. Instead of lowering my standards by stealing from them, I resolve my moral conflict with them by not supporting them with my money. If everyone would synergize and boycott the business, there would be nobody for Walmart to take advantage of.

I dunno...where i live you have to attempt to leave the premisis before you can be charged with theft. Im just saying....
Either way my views on the op's and others actions were clearly expressed earlier. You can say whatever you want ..justify however you want regarless of who it is from its stealing and a true reflection on your character...or more accurately lack therof...

I don't know who brought up the law is the issue- I don't care about laws that were made by the rich to benefit the rich. I'm talking about right and wrong... stealing is wrong. Lying is wrong. Hurting others is wrong.
Laws are necessary, but I'm not naive enough to think that they're meant to benefit the majority.

Stealing is a terrible, terrible habit. Take it from me! I used to steal everything.
No shit, one time I was in target and I stole a 50 slot CD case and filled the ENTIRE thing with games, movies, cds, ect and walked out the door.
