    BF% Formula

    I know there are tons of BS calculators and formulas on the web, but I think this one is pretty damn close to accurate. 3 of my friends almost live by it. Tell me what you guys think, I know it's kind of long and a pain in the ass, but its pretty damn accurate, imo. What do you guys think?

    this thing is off..

    according to this i am 18.5%..

    (238lbs x 1.082) + 94.42 = 351.936
    (38inches x 4.15) = 157.7

    LBM = 194lbs
    Fat = 44lbs of fat

    BF% = 18.5%

    I am anywhere between 18-20% so this is fairly accurate

    if i put my waist at 38inches it says i am 18.5%.. which is more accurate.... i wear 38" pants.. but my waist around my hips is 36" ... if i measure around my belly button and around (even sucking in) i am 38".. so maybe that is where i am supposed to measure???

    Exactly. Thats where your true waist is. I have a 33.5 around the belly button, but where my belt would lay, its under a 33"

    Umm it says hips not stomach. In my mind hips are under your waist not above.

    It says nothing about hips, it says "waist measurement" and yes, hips are under your waist (right where your belt would fit) and an accurate waist measurement is on the belly button

    When you wear pants around your waist do your pants cover your belly button ?

    Pant size is a bad indicator of waist. Everyone is going to have smaller #s in your idea of "waist". I was always told an accurate waist measurement is at the belly button or slightly under it. We need someone with more credibility than both of us to chime in here.

    I have never heard of anyone measuring waist at the belly button.

    Way too low, IMO. It says mine should be 14.1%. I'm actually around 20-21%, I think.

    I was figuring I'm between 16 and 18, this thing pegged me at 17%. That sucks but I think it's accurate. Starting a cut cycle next week. Single digits, i'm coming back to you!

    If you ever get pants fit by a tailor they measure waist up by the belly button. I remember it was just slightly below the belly button, maybe an inch or so.
