Any fans of 80's professional wrestling?

Slimmer's current avy looks just like Road Warrior Animal to me, and it got me on a trip down nostalgia lane.

I used to LOVE wrestling, it was everything to me when I was growing up and into my early teens. I know wrestling got REALLY popular in the 90's, but to me the 80's will always be the golden era. When the WWF was the fvckin WWF - not this WWE bs.

But I personally was a fan of the NWA, later WCW. It maintained that small town 'regional' feel, but still had some great stars and champions. The stories were better and weren't all watered down like the WWF. To me, the WWF was way commercial where NWA/WCW attempted to 'keep it real'.

    Who are your old favorites?

For me, it was the Road Warriors, hands down. They were the biggest meanest nastiest dudes around. They fought dirty yet were fan favorites. Not everybody can do that.

Just look at the size and strength of these 2. I know they're fat in terms of bodybuilder standards, certainly built more like powerlifters, but who can deny these guys were a force to be reckoned with?

60's is too early for me personally, but as a fan I can remember back into the very early 80's, probably even 70's. I remember when Bob Backland was the champ... I remember Bruiser Brody, Jerry Lawler... Ivan Putski... hmmm so many greats.

Ya, see that was the era where I had already gotten out of it.

I was a big Ric Flair fan...

I remember the days before the 90's where Saturday morning wrestling was always a named wrestler fighting some bum...

Anyone remember the Motor City Madman of the WCW? He was the tag team partner of the Big Cat. He's a good friend of mine. We do a lot of bodyguard work together here in Vegas. He's the nicest guy you ever want to meet and believe or not, he has a doctorate in alternative fuel management. He's probably one of the most intelligent people I've ever had to pleasure of knowing.

I came up in the 90's and 00's of wrestling been born in 88, but was hooked at a young age, and i must say still to a degree although the PG rating destroys a lot of the fun for me.

I always looked back on the 80's wrestling and although i preferred the attitude era i loved the 80's wrestlers, Jake the Snake, Macho Man, Hulk, Bushwacker (druggies surely), Road warriors, Million Dollar Man etc etc

I remember Vadar from the 90's, when Its Vadar time music hit it was awesome in my mind

Pro wrestling was the reason why I never wanted the bodybuilder type physique but rather a big powerful physique like Hogans, the Road Warriors, etc.
